Basicly sony took the path of packing the PSP with the best hardware they could, and nintendo took the path of innovation and making the DS capable of sweet gameplay and weird coolness. Notice this is the exact same path they are taking in consoles too, the Wii will go for its crazy controller and awsome backwards compatability, and the PS will be exactly the same as a PS2, but faster. Is this an omen of what is to come?
The reason why the pirate halflife2 runs better is because, firstly retail halflife2 has to have steam running in the background all the time hogging ur resources, and secondly all the files are held in this stupid big shared texture and sound and all this other crap file that steam swaps out to let halflife 2 access them, thus making it wait an extra step. hence the crappness, although i kind of like the concept of steam, it makes playing counter strike better and stops me having find a CD, I just wish it worked better.
Well Steam may stop the CD, but he'll have to wait about an hour for it to unlock first.
Also, I've played HL2 with steam and I've played the pirate version on my PC and the pirate version didn't stutter and it ran at a higher framerate and took less time loading, so yea, well done steam, way to fuck up HL2. Whats more I was robbed of playing on HL2 for 9 months because I moved into a room with no net connection and offline mode was broken (which it is quite often) when I moved. Also, I notice the pirate version of Farcry comes on 3 CDs instead of 5, and the best fix for GTA3's shitty slowdown was to install the No-Cd patch.
It's the same with DVDs too now, I got a pirate version of 28 days later, I put it in the drive and the movie plays straight away. I decided to be good and buy the genuine artice when it came out and when I put that in the drive I have to sit through a stupid notice telling me not to pirate the DVD and what a dirty criminal I am, and then I have to sit through fucking trailers, ON MY OWN FREAKING DVD! which I CAN'T SKIP! I wish I had stuck with the pirate version now, the fucking cheek of it, fucking weasels don't deserve my money, they can fucking go get it from thier advertising friends, they aren't getting any more from me, I swear to pirate every DVD produced by that distributor for the rest of my life.
When I was in 6th form, our IT class used to make websites abusing the school and filled with very offensive things, mainly out of anger at being made to do a worthless IT course when we signed up for computing. But anyway, the point, my friend put his name on his site and he got bollocked, and told to take it down, his site was just a bit nasty about the school, my site was extremly offensive, so offensive, I'm offended by it myself. Everyone knew the site was mine, everyone had seen it, i used to brag about it to everyone, however the school couldn't prove it was mine and so they couldn't say a word.
Cos, you know, there's no chance that more than one kid could have teh same classes or have the same teacher, and even if they figure out who it is, how can they prove anything, the kid could just deny it, claim someone else wrote it, how are they going to prove it?
You underestimate the common criminal, there are many smart criminals, think about the number of people in minimum wage jobs who's true talent is wasted, now if they are a criminal, there is nothing restricting thier true talent and they can unleash thier full potential of cunning.
I think hiding the vast demolition and destruction and human rights abuses going on in the west bank and gaza and the construction of the illegal apartheid wall are the main reason for the supression of information.

No, your not, many people do, but they like to dissociate the old Electronic Arts, when they had that cool logo, and still called themselves by thier full name, from the current entity called EA with the stupid logo, kinda like how people like Micheal Jackson when he was black, but not now hes white and a kiddie fiddler. the thing is though, the polygraph can be cheated by deliberately throwing it off during the baseline tests, usually by inducing stress by causing yourself pain by biting your lips or digging your fingernails into yourself at random, you could do the samething with this brain scan by thinking of things that you know will alter your brain activity, like doing calculations or thinking about sex, or by the same method of inducing pain, people would find a way to cheat it. If they show you pictures your could deliberatly not look at them, you could just let your eyes unfocus and stare at nothing at all.
The reason polygraphs don't work is people screw with them, just add a whole load of other factors at random and you can mix up the readings so they can't find any correlation between a truth and lie reading.
