" No party invitations, no updates from my friends, people stop talking to you, because you're not on Facebook."
Sounds like you have a loose definition of the word "friend" or you need new ones. I've refused to use FB since it's inception and never have I had an issue that wasn't solved by easier and less obtrusive means.
Except that raising pricing based on battery level isn't exactly a free market. If I trade a security having information not available to the public, I've broken the law and made an illegal. Pricing based on battery level is close to the same.
"There is no expectation of privacy in a public place."
There is an expectation of privacy in a public bathroom, do we apply the same rules to all public spaces? If I communicate in a public area that I would normally expect to be private, is that communication protected? This is something the courts need to decide.
One thing that isn't of question is disclosure of private conversation to third parties allows for damages to be awarded to the injured party. Someone needs to sue the FBI.
Are the guys they charged. Poor prostitutes forced to accept hundreds of dollars in nice safe and secure residences, boo hoo. It's exactly this type of narrow minded, holier than thou, judgemental and uptight thinking that makes me ashamed to be an American.
"Are these driver-less cars are so sophisticated that they require a college-educated person to sit behind the wheel?"
Probably not. But, I guarantee that providing super accurate feedback according specific detailed guidelines, with high accuracy will require a person that has the ability to comprehend and apply the provided guidelines (without training). Not that that requires a college education, but it eliminates many that don't have that ability. Guaranteed, driving is going to be the least of the hires responsibilities (or worries).
If it's in summon mode, how does it know to engage forward or reverse gear? Sure seems to me that the manufacture enabled a device to act autonomously without full awareness of it's environment. Low hanging fruit doesn't cut it.
It was never against regulations. The FAA is simply clarifying that using a drone as a student isn't considered commercial use. Additionally, they state that if that drone is being used by a teacher, it is commercial use and would require additional licensing.
Very few people will find a WiFi router useful that doesn't have network access. I don't know of any hardware sold by Google, rendered useless by their shuttering of services, do you?
First off, the FBI bought the technology from Cellebrite, most likely spending untold millions of tax payers funds. This shouldn't be real news to anyone, it's not the first time the US has depended upon Israeli intelligence to do what they weren't capable of (Betancourt rescue).
So now that the hack has been paid for and sold, someone will leak it for some reason or annother. The prediction is an obvious one, not needing any special talent or insite.
" Or, they are simply trying to sink the company to extend their present business plan(s)."
The only conspiracy here was the sale of smoke and mirrors. Nothing more than selling the dream with a compelling staff and story, ala Madoff. Time and financial forensics will eventually show the real product, which I imagine is just that, a story without the IP to support any of it.
In addition, the market isn't regulated by the US government. The world provides plenty of sellers and providers of high quality services and products located outside of US. Additionally, the FBI stated they were receiving help from Cellebrite http://www.cellebrite.com/Abou... , and Israeli company.
This is no mystery. It's not the first time this company had been the first to market with these type solutions.
"for about 2 1/2 times that price, I could own it".
And for the cost of a little research you could install Kodi/Xbmc, or the torrent client of your choice, screen it and choose to purchase it if you care to.

.. doesn't require a treatment program"
Nope, just an "oil-change" every six months. Sounds like a great revenue generator for the manufacture.
Security through obsolescence.
"Yes! That's what free market is all about. "

Something not mentioned in the post. Here's a much better article: http://www.seattletimes.com/se...
So they arrested the clients and let the webmaster unmolested?

Reviews aren't necessarily promotion.

Or without enough "are you sure, stupid?" prompts (or user enabled / liability waiving defeats).

Fairly cut and dry.
All that is needed is 48 hours following the last login before the OS requires a passkey.
That's actually a good solution.
we shall consider a software or hardware issue normally considered a "bug" in a micro device as a "weasel" in a larger device.
Thanks for the clarification!

" The FAA logged 538 drone incidents in the U.S. over the last six months, according to a new report released Friday, "
And not ONE has been verified, no radar signature or images in controlled airspace, not ONE! Typical FUD.
