    I would also venture to state that any savings received from turning off your computers is offset by hardware failure caused from thermal cycling. I've found that there is far less "wear and tear" when you set bios to sleep rather then power off and on in the morning.

    Sure wifi allowed access to the start page, but the same weakness (lam0r administration) would show up on lets say a wired public terminal. Wifi just makes criminal actions so much harder to catch.

    Not to mention how sucky the "new" interface is. Jeeze, dejanews had a clean interface. When it 1st became "Googlefied" it was fine, now it's allmost unusable! Such a waste of historic archives.

    Same deal (not accounting for any carrier agreements) the picocell IS the only service provider. Your cell phone won't see any stronger signal, so it can't phone home (for you Sprint).

    It's a money maker because they can capture all signals (assuming the picocell is a cdma, 3g, tdma or what ever abortion Nextel is running).

    They're not about service..

    If you mean using gprs on a gsm phone, or any of your own phone connection you'll probably still pay.
    I bet the signal from the "picocell" would be a roaming signal with a high premium.

    I don't understand why people want a browser that has a POP and NEWS client built in? If I want to use
    POP I use my POP client (not outhouse). If I want to use NNTP I use a NEWS client.

    Why expose yourself to such a mess?
