I agree. I'd think noise cancelling would be worse than isolation headphones as the noise cancelling are throwing noise at your ears to cancel out the noise that's outside the headphones. A good isolation set I'd imagine reduces the amount of damage done to your ears as the sound doesn't have to be up so loud. As an example I picked up a set of Steinhasser (hope I spelled that right) HD280s last week. I decided to go with isolation headphones as opposed to noise-cancelling. These things isolate so well, that I can't hear anything in my apartment with them on (no sound being played). I can't hear my dishwasher or air conditioner, nothing. Plus then when I go to use the volume on my receiver, I can turn the volume down to much much lower than before and still here it better than using another set of headphones.

Same here, I think I've been throttled too. There is a distribution center about 20 minutes away. For months, when I dropped a disc in the mail it'd show received later that day and a new one was in my mailbox two days later. So I could do two cycles of discs a week. Now I'm lucky if I get one cycle a week. I'm stopping my subscription at the end of the month. And yeah I'm one of those heavy users, I'd say in the last years I've rented 500-600 discs easy.

As an answer to number 2, it appears that the Emperor WAS losing to Windu. Although he put on a bit of the sappy puppy dog help me Anaking, he's going to kill me routine, I think he knew he would die unless Anakin helped him. In the script it says: "MACE pushes PALPATINE out to the edge of the ledge. As the Jedi moves closer, the bolts from Palpatine's hands begin to arch back on him. The Chancellor's face begins to twist and distort. His eyes become yellow as he struggles to intensify his powers." And I know people don't treat the books as cannon, but with the Witches of Dathomir when they used the dark side of the force their skin would bruise and blotch like the Emperors. So I think he was losing and tried giving a last ditch effort with his force powers to stop Windu. When he couldn't be begged Anakin for help.

Thanks for the replys everyone. Since the main purpose of the Mini would be to rip and create movies I have no problem with having it be at a standstill while I'm ripping video (the same thing happens right now while I use my P4, so my P4 would be freed up). Also most of my rips are limited to about 22 gigs of data at a time, and the most I've ever done is about 50 so I imagine the 80 gigs would be plenty of space for me. I usually use it for ripping soccer games and TV shows that I have recorded to my DVR (as I understand it, that's perfectly legal). Now I just have to do my taxes so I can get my rent rebate back and buy a mini :)

I'm looking at the 1.42 Mini and buying 1 gig of third party ram. Will that be enough to allow video capture of the same quality as I am getting on my PC? Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

I don't have mod points so you'll have to deal with a verbal mod up. I rewatched the original trilogy (as almost everyone else did when they were put out on DVD) and watching the end of Return of the Jedi as Luke is battling with the Emperor, one thing I noticed is how real it seemed. No matter how many green screens and CGI you do, it just doesn't seem to give the real feeling that seeing actual props do. Now using CGI for the backgrounds instead of matte painting works nicely, but for foreground elements it just looks much better with models.

Thanks for the link on that, I look forward to giving the site a spin when I get home. Of course I don't understand the why the various media companies get so hyped up about downloading and the like. If I download an album and listen to it, I either trash it if it is crap, or if I like it I go out and buy it. I've done it with many albums (Dido, William Shatner, The Streets, Travis, DJ Hype, etc..) and I tell all my friends/family about the music and encourage them to go out and buy it. Same deal with a movie, if I watch it through netflix and like it, I buy it and tell all my friends and family to buy it/rent it. If you put out quality product, you don't have to worry about people downloading it. The majority of people who download it, if they like it enough will buy it. The ones that won't buy it probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

brings up an interesting idea in his Ender's Game series of books. What if there were a sort of connection between all the ants, or birds, or creatures that show this sort of behavior, like there was with the buggers in his book. What if there is some sort of connection there that we with current tools cannot detect. Or as George Lucas put it, sort of like the Force. It's there, it allows birds/ants to communicate in a method that we can't detect. Is that possible?
