    Oh on the replay thing its both better and worse than you would think

    you see twitch has a feature called "Clips" where any viewer of your stream can hit a button and i think the last 20 and next 10 seconds of the stream is saved as a clip. This clip is available FOREVER (and yes it can be downloaded and converted to data glyphs).

    and there are a bunch of streamers that keep things mostly civilized gamerscircle is a bit rowdy but

    all keep it clean

    but look at it this way if you already have Amazon Prime and you are a Gamer setting up Twitch Prime is a good way to get free stuffs.

  4. which could be solved very quickly with a simple reg that no city would have the stones to make.

    In any and all cases where a camera has been issued to the officer
    1 the officer shall do a functional check of said camera before each shift and shall get the camera replaced if it does not function (to include a check of any and all storage devices) before leaving the issuing area.

    2 if any complaints are filed or a reportable incident occurs and the resulting recording is missing or otherwise corrupt then the courts shall find for the civilian (and all materials belonging to the civilian shall be returned intact or replaced).

    these clowns should get crucified for basically holding the public hostage

    1 RICO charges should be filed against the company and the execs (i think its called separately and corporately liable??)

    2 the IRS should do a full bore forensic audit on the paperwork for the last 7 years

    3 the company should be required to pay back every penny plus 25% of the increase

    4 their entire patent portfolio should be wiped and they should be required to assist any company currently in the same or semi related market on building a duplicate (in fact those patents should become PD)

    if this does cause the company to become bankrupt then the Execs should be bared from any medical business for the next 15 years (or just give them all a nice 10-20 in a not actually nice prison)

    next up for the Full Roman Treatment the guys that make Naloxone/Narcan

    the problem is when the OEM carts are the inferior product.

    what should happen is somebody should develop a printer where the head and the ink "tank" are completely separate and then publish a spec for the ink itself and the tank (with details on how big/heavy the tank should be max to prevent the carriage from getting damaged).

    also any product with OTA/OTN firmware upgrades should have an actual physical jumper to enable/disable the flashing process

    part of the problem is a combo of NIMBY and wanting cubic meters of docs to prove that the tech being used is
    99.9999999999% safe.

    if they "simply" used the same protocols that the US Navy uses for its reactors then it would be safe enough (build the things as more or less sealed units that need a chunky crane to remove so that in 20 years when the fuel is expended you just get a crane yoink the HOT bits out and replace).

    Challenge for those folks that would rather have a Supermax Prison than a nuclear power plant:

    Name (with verifiable proof from 3 independent sources) all of the nuclear reactor accidents that did not involve
    1 something getting shot at (or other wartime action)
    2 brasshat squids mucking about
    3 deliberate sabotage

    and don't count things like missiles getting lost or fuel getting lost those are not reactor accidents

    5 eject package UNDERHAND

    Hot tip if you need a semifragile package delivered have it marked [Please Throw Underhand] because if you think the drivers are bad you should see the apes that work in the depots.

    because Hams make a sport out of creating links where "mere mortals" would curl up in a screaming ball.

    with a good rig and even half decent materials you could get a relay setup to reach a couple hundred miles station to station (assumes presence of a suitable hill to put your relay).

    All Else Failing the ARC has the local Hams "stand down" when they get there ( those Hams that are not staff of ARC)

    just so this is explained for future readers a while back if you filed bankruptcy then Student Loans got tossed in the pile of "okay this is how much blood is in this stone so y'all have fun trying to divide it" and most of the times all that was left was a couple grams of plasma.

    One of the "reforms" to bankruptcy law changed that and Student Loans got put in the "Nice try You still Owe this money" pile (round the same time these got to be backed by The Fed).

    It should be LAW that if you BUY a phone then you should be able to Root the phone and do want with the software that does not mess with the actual phone software (which should be a separate downloadable ap package).

    (oh and "design decisions" that make it hard to get Root should require that OEM to provide at no cost the needed materials to bypass)

    plus the fact is having an actual prepared skin of a critter with pulped dried and bleached wood Tome is a good crash proof way of storing data (and OCR friendly glyphs can solve the data density issue).

    plus all else failing to read a book in a cave you need a chunk of wood, rags, oil, flint and stone (and a rock to sit on if you have a long book).

    lets try it this way

    if you are tied to a wall and a truck is crashing into you

    1 acceleration going UP means you will splat even more (up to "WHAT CAR??"type speeds)
    2 acceleration going DOWN means you will splat less (down to "Nice Chrome on that bumper" type speeds

    and there is also the effect a given person has on the planet (a mad Pyro with access to explosives will have a greater impact than a hippie in a commune)

    1 ads are STATIC IMAGES ONLY (text ads are fine and you may script ad swapping/updating)
    2 you take responsibilty for the content of the ad (no outsourcing to an outsourcer that ..)
    3 this includes paying to have my system rebuilt if a bad ad gets served to me
    4 give me the capability to block types of ads i do not want to see (yes you can datamine this info as you would like)

    oh and clearly separate ad content from "real" content

    each polling location is provided with a set number of boxes that are sealed and rigged so that once a ballot is inserted (by the polling machine) it can't be removed.

    number of ballot forms is a logged number (number of registered voters+ a reserve to recover from spoiled ballots with one brick being opened at a time and spoiled ballots kept)

    when you vote you place your marks and then feed the ballot into a polling machine and it then spits out a ticket with a set of random numbers from a pool (each number is used once )

    checks in place

    1 they inventory the boxes afterwards "Missing" boxes or evidence of tampering results in a redo (and criminal charges for the staff)

    2 they also inventory the ballots (again missing ballots result in a redo if it is large enough to effect the election FOR THAT LOCATION)

    3 a voter can input any number they want to check what a given vote was (may be their vote may be somebody elses)

    well walking into a BestBuy and dropping enough CASH money that they had to do a double count (and most likely a safe drop) gets you very good service especially when

    1 You know more or less exactly what you want
    2 you do this 3 times in a week
    3 you have an aura of ALPHA GEEK!
    4 you are nice about it

    but yes as a former RadioShack Sales Support person (hi if you know where 01-1909 was) i have to grit my teeth to not laugh/cringe when i hear BestBuy clerks talk to customers.

    okay lets see

    1 in theory you could put these plants in locations that don't require huge ships burning just about raw crude to get them to the place they are being used

    2 this is a great way to store energy for times when solar does not work

    3 if we get enough capacity we could oh store the "extra" in a reserve ---- the reserve amount would be "progress"

    4 this can be used to power stuff that can't yet be powered by electric ---- giving time to invent a way

    anything short of ZPMs is going to have a downside so hows about we work on keeping the patient "alive" long enough for us to figure out a decent fix??

    1 if you want to be technical Decimate means kill/remove 1 in 10 i think you were reaching for devastating
    2 the US Budget actually has a surprisingly small percent spent on the DOD (last year about 15%)
