  1. Re:Deep Fear on Videogames Make Better Horror Than Movies? · · Score: 1

thats the first memory i have of a videogame scaring me, i was maybe 7-8 and i shut the game off and turned on every light i could find. eventually i went back to playing it though. next biggie was playing doom3 directly after watching dawn of the dead, thank you suprnova.

  2. Re:Not very accurate on Playing Music Slows Vista Network Performance? · · Score: 1

frankly im in the middle of the two, but its from a piracy standpoint.

hands down i prefer vista, its able to handle 1280x800 flawlessly, which for some reason xp wont, it shows up out of focus. the media center is great, and for someone who reinstalls his os monthly, its great because it will automatically shortcut my games on my other drive when i play them. im using vista now as a matter of fact.

the issue i have? ultimate costs too much, and cracking the os results in more headaches than xp ever did. except for maybe that month that wga knocked us on our asses.

slmgrhack -rearm is still way more annoying than just patching the wga files.

definitely wasn't my first book, but it sparked my love of reading unlike anything before had. however as far as fantasy universe stories go, i prefer discworld, but potter has a much more convoluted story line that keeps me engaged. otherwise however, im generally reading political non-fiction.

  9. so is that why... on Why Online Multiplayer Isn't That Important · · Score: 1

... monolith released the multiplayer segment of F.E.A.R. for free to the community? in all seriousness, how many of us buy an fps for the single player mode, halo, half life, prey, and so on aside. after you play through that once, replay value lies in handing some noob his ass on a platter. or more importantly, console games aside, who buys single player role playing games for their computer, instead of mmo's, outside of monetary restraints? sure theres an impersonal feel, and sometimes i really want to hear my friend cry out in anguish when i slap him stupid in fear, but for a quick pick-up game, online wins hands down. i realize that there are millions of games geared to single player experience, and i love them, but lets not throw multiplayer to the wind just because its not a personal experience all of the time. btw, one of the best multiplayer offline games ive played in a while was burgerking's bumper cart thing. nerdy stupid fun when you cram four guys in a room and hand them controllers, havent seen someone get so worked up when playing with a burgerking toy since i was 5.

This is very good! Its like having a PG rating as teen is the PG-13. For kids who are too old to stand games like Finding Nemo, or other disney games marketed to younger audiences, but aren't able to purchase teen rated games yet. I myself am only 16 (on monday anyway) but i dont really see the ratings as restrictive, but as an effective means of keeping ridiculous charges from being levied against the makers of such stress relieving games as GTA and Quake 3. Many problems like those could be avoided if the parents had kept informed about what their children played, and about the maturity level of their kids. Hats off to the ESRB.
