  18. EPR paradox...hmmm on The Speed Of Gravity Revealed · · Score: 1

So, basically, what we KNOW influences what we SEE.

Sounds plausible. Think of the ramifications on probability, and the general direction of the events which unfold both on the quantum and physical realities. The events we witness (even in real life) that lead to changes in what we are about to experience; the signs we miss that an event is about to occur, even though thinking back we had a nagging suspicion that the said event was about to occur, etc. etc.

Cause and effect, really. It's the filtering of a string of 'cause and effect's to really get down to what the primal cause was, based on our OBSERVATIONS, and only what we see. So a primal cause as seen by us was actually an effect caused by another effect, since the true primal cause is so far out of our understanding that we can't discern it.

Hence the generalization. We only SEE what we KNOW.

  23. Re:Canadia on The Price Of Doing Business · · Score: 1

Broadband is NOT massively subsidized. It is being promoted though not funded by the federal government (will be in the future) and soon-to-be subsidized for rural areas by the Alberta government. The fact that it may be subsidized has no effect on the fact that the prices are lower here AT THIS POINT IN TIME. Which means that the situation can only improve. As far as what you can find in Futureshop and not Circuit City...there's not much difference at all. Therefore Canada and the U.S. seem to be on a level playing field, with Canada perhaps edging ahead regarding broadband and standard of living. So why bitch about working up here?

WTF??? There is no need to deposit your money in a non-interest bearing account. I have a regular savings account and can still use my debit card for purchases. Banking here is obviously a little bit different from what you're used to.
