Keeping people ignorant is a way of controlling them. Conversely, ignorant and gullible people are more easily coerced into doing something like killing themselves. There is a lot of evidence to indicate these, along with poverty and greed, are often factors in suicide bombings. Although 9/11 did a lot to dispel that since many were middle-class, educated types. I think the 'ignorant terrorist' sterotype persists because it makes terrorism easier to handle in our minds if we don't think of the people doing it, or behind it, as intelligent, rational people.
I seem to hear the same recording of "paging Dr Blair" in just about every hospital scene. I also recall hearing it on Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" album; all the songs together tell a sort of murder mystery drama and there are small dialogue and sound effects sequences between them. Quite an interesting album.
I'm not clear on what you are asking. But I should clarify that there is a driver for serial dynapros included with XFree86, but not for usb. And the serial one does not support calibration. There is one that supports calibration, but the author just gives out binaries and won't share the source code so it can't be used with recent versions of XFree86. And we haven't had the time or enough customer requests to write it ourselves like I did for the microtouch controller.
Aside from lung cancer, it is pretty random though. Random culling doesn't increase the fitness(in evolutionary sense, not health sense) of a population.
hrm, actually, perhaps it could have an effect. With high fitness individuals having a higher chance to die it may encourage reproduction earlier in life.
I knew that 'Irak' was the french spelling because the Iraqi nuclear reactor that the French helped build and the israelis blew up was called 'osirak'. A combination of 'osiris', which was the name of the french reactor it was based on, and the french spelling of iraq.
I had never played any of the final fantasy games. I bought it and play it because I have friends that play it. I think that is the primary motivation behind many user's game purchasing decisions.
Although, oddly enough, I helped one friend install while another had been playing for a couple days, and when I went to buy it at Best Buy the next day(a friday, 3 or 4 weeks ago)) They did not have any copies of the game!
Nor did they have it on the list of upcoming games. The guy who worked there told me my friends must have bought it online or were in a beta program. He knew this because he was a "computer guy" and knew about these things. So I went across the street to Electronics Boutique at the mall and bought it there.
No need to escape those doublequotes. A double quote has no special meaning in a regular expression. The less extraneous junk in your code, the easier it is for others(and yourself in 6 months) to understand and maintain, 8^)
Very global community since _The Lord of the Rings_ has been translated into so many languages.
Huuuge world due to the contributions of so many people over the years.
Great variety of play types, you can play characters in safer areas fighting traditional computer controlled 'mobs', or you can join the ongoing war between the forces of light and dark.
You can play on either the good(human, elf, dwarf, hobbit) side or the evil(orc, troll, evil human). I personally found the war aspect one of the best, since it is very exciting and challenging to play against other humans(I was a genocide player too,;).
many types of quests(I'll never forget my solo quest sneaking into Moria and the sound of those orc drums!),
a unique 'travel point' system which meant you had to travel to gain levels,
a herblore system that you could use hard to find plants to make neat potions,
the world is quite detailed, even down to a language system that worked by distorting the words of someone speaking based on how well your character knew the language they used.
and probably a bunch of other things I am forgetting, but anyway, it is the best one,;)
That's precisely why they are all split up. Because people are too dumb, lazy or apathetic to do simple arithmetic and realize how much they are really paying.
Coincidentally, I vaguely recall that large numbers of taxes nickel and diming us all was one of the reasons that prompted us to rebel against Britain.
I wonder if it is possible to calculate an average of what people really pay. Perhaps based upon governmental records that state total amounts pulled in compared with total amounts of personal income.
A "handful of monopolies" would be an "oligopoly". One of my favorite words for some strange reason, 8^)

I've used it for a neat project where the only input device for a kiosk was a barcode scanner. (We made this funky menu system for administration(loading content and downloading logs) which involved bouncing the focus between choices
and you would swipe the 'admin' barcode when you wanted to choose an option.)
Did you know the german word for "Admin"? It's "Netzwerkadministrator"...a word with fsckin' 21 chars:-/
Umm, isn't the english term "system administrator" or "network administrator"; which is the same length?
Granted, many german words are longer(e.g. "basisrecheneinheit" for "butterfly") but complaining that a translated word is longer than your abbreviation of it is quite silly. That's like complaining that the german word for "FYI" is "Fur ihre informationen".

Most of those traits you requested can be accomplished with a cron job.
45 8 * * * aumix -v75;mpg123 song-with-variable-volume.mp3(like Dvorak's New World Symphony);sleep 600;aumix -v80;mpg123 song.mp3;sleep 400; etc.
and snooze is having to get up, turn on monitor, and running 'killall mpg123'
With the additional benefit of letting you set a later time for weekends.
ok, who else will admit that they first read 'irish free' as 'not containing any irish', similar to 'fat free' labels, 8^)

There are no linux drivers for dynapro, unfortunately. We only support Microtouch and Elo.

My first thought upon seeing "LotR RotK" was that it looked like Klingon, :)

It is better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
I beg to differ. I think the more accurate phrase is:
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Whether or not it is better to do so requires an ethical decision on the part of the asker.

Awesome MUD based on Tolkien's work.
NOTE: I have NO affiliation with this site whatsoever. I can can barely read music. ;)
What makes you think you have to be able to read music to run a record label? 8^)
Wouldn't that encourage people to blow all their money rather than invest or save it?

"Evian" is "Naive" spelled backwards.
