Live forensics defeats hard drive encryption. RAM can be frozen with liquid nitrogen or even just canned air, removed from your box, and analyzed to get the encryption key, which will be stored in memory. My forensics class is awesome.

This is one of those ideas that when the piracy community decides to do something like reverse the names for all pirated content, or just use numbered files with lookup indices, the search software fails and the company goes out of business.

Sorry, not being clear. You know how we have the idea of "The rich get richer while the poor get poorer" here? That's exponential for them. It's not free trade economic growth there. As China's economy picks up the differential between the rich and the poor grows, leading to the unrest. Also, the price tag of oppression in China is already set at a certain level of fear. The government can't all of the sudden act weak and benevolent, lifting the spirits of the poor, unless there is some mock coupe or something thereof. Although, if they keep their own military happy enough to kill their own people (Tiananmen square) then they can most definatly keep the fear alive. Wish there were an easy answer...

Good. With the economy growing the way it is in China, and the technology spreading, it's just a matter of time before that poor excuse for a government loses grip. The more they push, the faster it will happen. These guys can't even get a highway infrastructure for their country, or they don't want to so they can keep the people where they are. Regardless, the clock is ticking.

If by very successful you mean maybe 10 games out of 200 a year breaking even, maybe. Then sure, a great success. The most successful PC games are the unpiratable games, namely WOW, Guild Wars, Etc.

I used to agree with you. Then I thought about it. Piracy may push up console sales a litte bit in internet culture, but the internet culture (namely console hacking website users) no longer holds majority on who buys consoles. The 360 was unveiled on MTV! It doesn't get more mainstream. If piracy boosts sales, why has no EASILY hackable system been successful ever? Bottem line, software makes money, any software being run on a videogame system that you are not trading money for is software that these companies don't want run on your system. If you use my system, you run my software, and you give me money for it. That's how they think.

Playstation's had the exact button setup the 360 has now for years. The white and black for original xbox were R2 and L2 moved to where they should never have been. Why would you have similar buttons catagorized differently? A,B,X,Y black and white? Hell at least the six button genesis controller kept a universal button setup with abcxyz. It really made no sense. Too much praise for correcting a mistake.

Make a utility available to get the saves off of the PS2 with a USB cable. Or if you were cool enough to purchase a Dexdrive you should have no problem to begin with. Either way... I can't imagine all of your savegames are going to get you into replaying your old games since you're posting about it complaining instead of playing them in the first place. I'm more likely to replay a game that I don't have every item or every level completed in before the ones i do.
