Google Navigate explicitly sends a trace of your route back to Google every time you use it... if you don't have problem with Google knowing every place you've been, why should you have a problem with them collecting other data? (Has the Google Navigate data been used against anyone in court yet?)

    It might not have been painted by a computer at all... this might just be a cheap trick to make money by selling something painted by a bad art student.

    No, the app uninstalls, but in the process of uninstalling, it notifies the seller of the app so they can try to browbeat you into reinstalling it. Why does the app seller have your address or why can they still send you notifications aren't quite clear... hmm, perhaps there is money to be made in blocking this kind of harassment.

    Suing opens them up to discovery about their security procedures... I don't think that would be in the company's best interests. Not a big fan of "security through obscurity", but you're better off having hackers know as little as possible about how you protect your servers.

  19. If a hacker has physical access to the hard drive of a computer, it isn't secure! (Barring encrypting the drive in a way that ties it to specific hardware, in which case, if that hardware fails, then all your data is lost.)

    The fact that Trump acting like a a-hole has tarnished the Trump brand so badly that nobody wants to license the Trump name anymore doesn't make it a good guy... it just makes him an a-hole. Yes, as a general principle, people that view the presidency as a money-making opportunity should not be trusted. Based on Trump's own statements, I believe he did view the presidency as a money-making opportunity! He's just too egotistical and stupid to know when he's damaging his own brand.
