    This is comparable to a mini pc tucked under the TV with a wireless keyboard and/or a harmony control. The battery life and software UI on the touchpad will be critical to the success of this product.

    Most internet users can't tell the difference between firefox and IE

    My parent's PC used IE, and at one point in time I installed firefox and with an IE icon as shortcut. The ONLY difference they noticed: my mom once asked me "why did the logo becomes a fox thing?"

    You're saying that it won't happen - that in 10 years things will look different. So Chinese won't improve in quality, or use robots down the road? What did people say about Chinese electronics 5-10 years ago? I don't follow your logic: because they suck at building cars now, it's not going to change in the future.

    The Chinese government is actually quite hostile to the United States and many other countries.

    When the country is this big and US is the biggest aggressor in the world, invading any country of choice within no valid reason, they'd be silly if they don't arm up and show strength.

    FYI the original Chinese version abbreviated the 2 Chinese characters with just 1. I.e. It refers Shenzhou as just Shen. Shenzhou is actually 2 separated characters with Shen by itself means God and Zhou means land/place. So it's really "God's land", in which Chinese refers the term Shenzhou to China. It's like 'beefcake' has nothing to do with beef or cake :)

    You can't be serious - a big chuck of OSS is not a hobby. Fortune 500 companies doesn't run Linux, Apache, MySQL, JBoss, PHP because it's fun. IBM, SUN, RedHat don't pay people to work on OSS projects because it's fun.

    It's not about conspiracy but you can't ignore the fact that even just in /. it has so much unwarranted anti-Chinese sentiment. People comment on stuff they don't know, never actually talked to Chinese, never been to the China, and yet so much expert opinions on why China is so evil.

    And they may be right in a few regards. There is already the big issue of low-quality goods coming out of the country. Just recently a number of people in Japan died from having eaten tainted food from China.

    We normally pick young, fit astronauts with their whole lives ahead of them. This proposed mission is philosophically profound and does have the potential to unite the world in a way that the original Moon landing did. The suggestion is a piece of genius!

    I mean, shouldn't it be adjusted by the market itself? Some vendors want to sell burger and fries separately, and some comes in a combo. If the combo seller have the same quality and cheaper, then they'll win. Nobody forces you to go to that non-combo restaurant.

Otherwise, quit undermining your parents and let them raise your sister. You can contribute if you want by teaching her about computers, but do it in assistance to your parents, not in opposition.
