OH NO THE COMPUTER COMMUNICATED WITH MICROSOFT.

Please, enough of this bullshit. I know that /. is Pro Linux and Anti Windows, but when it bleeds into the actual news posts, this really makes me question the validity of this as a news site.

Come on! This is /.! Not Fox News!

To be fair, Kerafyrm in Sleeper's Tomb was never meant to be defeated. Just the amount of HP it had, as well as how much it could regen per second, shows it was just there to be an unkillable fiend. I was online when they finally took him down, and it took a long time and a lot of people. Hundreds, if i recall correctly. One of, if not the, largest multi guild raids ever. I suspect the only reason they could take him down was because of the changes (new spells, items) from Luclin and PoP.

So they kids are spoiled because they don't want to spend 15 bucks on a potentially crappy CD, which, even if good, will probably only have 1 or 2 good songs? Even if, as studies show, people who download music buy more legal music than other people?

    The RIAA is fucking spoiled.

  16. DS didnt start well... on Nintendo Gives No Ground In Handheld Wars · · Score: 5, Interesting

When i originally started reading previews and press releases about the DS, i was curious. But i was quickly turned off by a couple things that were said, like when they said that the DS would be a seperate line from the gameboy, and would be completely different. This made me think of this as just an offshoot, possibly something not big. The dual screens seemed kinda useless to me, as they originally said something like "Well, if you are playing a soccer game, you can have the regular view on one screen and an overview of everything on the other..." Also, i didnt know about the touch screen. Or i just didnt pay attention. What won me over is when i played it. Was standing around at best buy, a working DS was on display. I had tried one of those before, played metroid. I didnt like it, so i forgot about it. Wasnt the DS's fault, i just think metroid for the DS sucks. Anyway, the DS i played had the pac man drawing game. The creative use of the touch screen was so awesome that i knew i had to have it. Now. Well, i didnt get it then, but after hard work and many hurdles, i got it soon. My friends were surprised (to say the least) that i got a DS. They thought it was crap or some sissy system. It is hard to explain how phat the ds is. Some things in this world can't be told in verse or prose. The Nintendo DS is one of those things.

This is a blatant ad for the game-- it has nothing to do with some people "raising the game from the dead." Recently on the penny-arcade.com forums, someone (who registered 1 minute before posting) posted a huge article advertising this game in the games/technology forum. It was instantly locked by a moderator... Im not sure how many other forums they are doing this on... But seriously, this isn't news. Its just an ad. Im not sure why the slashdot mods would put this up, but it isnt right.

I can also probably say that most of the people who use Linux are more proficient with computers and maintaining a secure enviroment. Many people who dont know what they are doing use windows. Or a mac (but they dont count). There is also the fact that so many more viruses and exploits exist for windows- probably because more people are targetting this larger and older demographic of computers.
