If they're bigger, you just use 'cheaper' tactics. First rule of fighting is there are no rules. If he's twice your size, you kick him in the nuts and once he hits the ground you keep kicking him. If you can't get a shot like that, but there's a blunt object within reach, or a chair, you use it. Once you make it clear to everyone that if you're pushed, you will use ANY means necessary to put the other person down, noone will want to fight you cause most often those kids won't care as less as you, and whoever cares the least in a fight wins.
The Ender Wiggin approach is exactly the idea when the person is twice your size, or has a group of friends, you pick out the toughest and you give him a beating that will make his friends cringe when they look at you afterwards. You don't go as far as killing him as ender did, but the idea is the same. You give a beating so severe that they will NEVER think of doing that again.

The answer isn't to shield kids from bullying, it's to teach them how to deal with it. Someone talks shit, get up in their face and make them back it up or back the fuck off. Someone shoves you, you deck them. I tried the ignore them stuff until I was a Junior in High School, at which point I started forcing kids to put up or shut up. Someone started running their mouth? Got right in their face less than a foot away and told them, either hit me or shut the fuck up, cause talkin shit is for pussies. Someone shoved me? They got thrown against a locker and told if they wanna get physical, they better be ready to fight. Wanna know what happened once I started doing that? Wouldn't ya know it, they stopped that shit, hell some of them even became good friends of mine after a while. Acting like a little bitch and running for someone else to protect you or shield you from the evils of the world isn't productive, it's how things like Columbine happen. Back in the day there weren't school shootings cause kids weren't taught to be little girls and cry everytime someone was mean, they were taught to stand up for themselves.

You mean like the updates that eventually brought Asheron's Call to being a worthless pile of shit, when it was one of the greatest MMORPG's ever made. They bent the PVP balance over and raped it, literally, in their attempts to balance it via spreadsheets. They made the game so outlandishly easy that a retarded 5 year old could play and not have a single problem. Those are the kinds of things you can expect out of Turbine with any of their games, nothing but failures and the occasional accidental omgwtfAWESOME bug that makes the game fun, such as in Asheron's Call the Stamina To Mana/Revit cycling for mages, sliding while performing actions, and numerous other things that made the game fun yet were totally unintended albeit accepted and promoted by the devs once they saw them and realized they were the only things making the game fun.

Rodney King was NOT police brutality.
He was high on cocaine and pcp, drunk as hell too, just crashed his car after running from the cops going 90mph in a residential neighborhood, and was REPEATEDLY attacking the officers around him even before they started beating him. The only way to safely subdue him was to literally beat him into submission. In case you don't know what PCP and Cocaine do, PCP dulls nearly all pain, is prone to making someone who gets really high on it extremely paranoid and violent, and is like a nonstop adrenaline rush, if someone is really whacked out on it they can take a gunshot and not even notice it until they collapse from blood loss. Cocaine also numbs pain and makes someone violent. If Rodney had just stayed down instead of constantly getting up, he wouldn't of had to be beaten.

If so, it's noone's fault but the parents. You can't blame everyone under the sun for doing something legal simply because it adversely affects children who are not being properly parented.
Secondly, on the MMORPG addiction and a lawsuit needed to curb people in their addictions, NO. I'm a libertarian when it comes to these kinds of things. The state should NOT be there to hold a person's hand all throughout their life so they dont' make bad decisions such as getting addicted to things. It should be there to make sure the person's rights are not violated, but beyond that not much more. If a person decides to get addicted to X game, and ruins their entire life because of said game, that is not the game makers fault, only the person who got addicted.

He was drunk, high on cocaine and PCP, and driving in excess of 90mph in a residential area. When he finally crashed, thank god not killing anyone, he fought the officers and, thanks to our little friend PCP shutting down all pain receptors, he was repeatedly attempting to get up and attack officers as they beat him. In that situation their only recourse WAS to beat him into submission, because quite frankly no other way would of ensured the officers safety in the face of a crazed drug user.

Sadly, for MMORPG's atleast, players don't want a challenge. They want to have their hand held while they proceed through the game, knowing no dangers or challenges beyond time. This is a pathetic situation indeed, especially for those of us who live for the challenge, particularly in the form of PVP. Darkfall is our last hope for such a game, and sadly it appears the great ideals behind it will not be enough to bring it to fruition.
