Are you joking? Who IS portrayed "realistically" on TV? Should I be upset that Joey from "Friends" (and the more recently horrible "Joey") is portraying Italian Americans "unrealistically"? Or maybe I should take offense to Tony Shalhoub playing a sterotype of a crime solving obsessive compulsive detective. After all, it's treating those with this disorder "as living jokes".
British TV will deal with subjects that American TV cannot touch
- Will & Grace
- Queer Eye
- Queer As Folk
- Ellen
- Pretty much all of Bravo
I think American TV has pretty much smashed the closet door wide open...
Actually, my point has nothing to do with religion, Christianity, morality, or anything of the sort. It has to do with the fact that the premise is retarded. Simple as that. I'd say the same thing if he were a "womanizing, time traveling con man" or "bubblegum loving, time traveling conman".
I for one welcome our new EU overlords. I'd like to remind them that as an employed system admin with no other skills, I may be helpful in rounding up DNS servers to resolve IP addersses all over the world...
If a business was smart, they'd already be using open source as a competitive advantage. Google knows about servers and handling load. Your local PHB does not. Your PHB wants to buy Windows Server 2003. Google customized their own Linux distro.
You can't seriously believe that nonsense logic... Let's use exactly the same logic in a different example.
If a mass transit system were smart, they'd build a light rail system to transport thousands of people to and from work every day. So it follows that if I'm smart, I'll also build my own light rail system for myself and by work buddies to get to a from work. Hmm... Let's rethink this...
The consumer electronics industry will always have "compatibility wars". It was no different with the 56K modem wars (X2 vs K56Flex). Consumers: Don't go out and by the latest HDDVD player if you aren't prepared to have a worthless heap of circuits laying around 2 years later. Case in point: my very own K56Flex modem, retailing for $89.95. DOH!
Religius zealots and Christians are not necessarily one in the same. I think most reasonable Christians don't need to comment because they realize that if a single moron wants to inject himself with an RFID tag, it's not the end of the world.
When Uncle Sam does away with credit cards and cash, and forces you to use your implanted RFID tag in order to get groceries... Well... Then it's time to talk about the end of the world. =)
It seems to me that Enterprise would make a great transition onto the silver screen whereas DS9 and Voyager have failed to do so. I think that by not wrapping up the series nicely, they leave a large window of opportunity for this type of move. The last two series ended nicely. Too nicely, in fact, to continue on (IMHO). I'm rather glad to see that they aren't going to write a "happily ever after" ending for the series.
We shouldn't get "hung up" with things like the "misuse" of "punctuation". We're "geeks" and as such we should be "allowed" to "misuse" the English "language".

You realize that was originally a British series... and as it happens, created by Mr. Davies...
Sure, but my point is that it airs without issue in the U.S.

will feature Captain Jack, the bisexual time-travelling conman
Just when you thought British TV couldn't get any worse...

"with a mind to forcibly remove control of the Internet from the United States."
How in the world do they think they will "forcibly" do this without full US support? I'd like to see them try to land UN troops on US soil.
This is why I like to throw in the term "flux capacitor" every once in a while when I'm explaining stuff to end users...

So tell me what did Microsoft give us other than a combination of other peoples technologies and ideas?
Umm... Rise of Nations is pretty rad...

I went into a deep depression after the loss of my $200 R.C. WWII fighter from Hobby Lobby... I wonder if these guys will bounce back.
...it should satisfy fans who were unhappy with the first two.
No... Nothing can take the pain away...
I just have to ask... Why don't they make the WHOLE OS out of the black box?
It's been slash dotted... =)
And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that we'll drive for 45 minutes in a parking lot so we don't have to walk an extra 12 feet.

Real men get RFID tags that explode when they hit oxygen...
I'm still waiting for a game that will depict Clinton's white house years.
Leisure Suit Larry don't got shit on Bill!
...And I just got done downloading CS...

Let the cloning begin!
CRAP! I just bought a new Rottweiler for home security too!
...or it could be a sarcastic reference to the false concept of "English" as a monolithic, standardised language.
We have a winner. =)
What's up with these quotation marks?

Is this supposed to be a photo of Steve Jobs in 10 years? If so, they did a pretty good job!
How did I know that I'd be the one to get modded down out of 300 other replies saying the same thing? Hmph!
