Or maybe I should take offense to Tony Shalhoub playing a sterotype of a crime solving obsessive compulsive detective. After all, it's treating those with this disorder "as living jokes".

If a business was smart, they'd already be using open source as a competitive advantage. Google knows about servers and handling load. Your local PHB does not. Your PHB wants to buy Windows Server 2003. Google customized their own Linux distro.

The consumer electronics industry will always have "compatibility wars". It was no different with the 56K modem wars (X2 vs K56Flex). Consumers: Don't go out and by the latest HDDVD player if you aren't prepared to have a worthless heap of circuits laying around 2 years later. Case in point: my very own K56Flex modem, retailing for $89.95. DOH!
Religius zealots and Christians are not necessarily one in the same. I think most reasonable Christians don't need to comment because they realize that if a single moron wants to inject himself with an RFID tag, it's not the end of the world.
When Uncle Sam does away with credit cards and cash, and forces you to use your implanted RFID tag in order to get groceries... Well... Then it's time to talk about the end of the world. =)
It seems to me that Enterprise would make a great transition onto the silver screen whereas DS9 and Voyager have failed to do so. I think that by not wrapping up the series nicely, they leave a large window of opportunity for this type of move. The last two series ended nicely. Too nicely, in fact, to continue on (IMHO). I'm rather glad to see that they aren't going to write a "happily ever after" ending for the series.
We shouldn't get "hung up" with things like the "misuse" of "punctuation". We're "geeks" and as such we should be "allowed" to "misuse" the English "language".
