I am a devoted user of SuSE 7.3 Pro on DVD, and had consciously decided not to "upgrade" to 8.0 based on their decision to completely remove the text-based Yast1. However, this news of a revamped text installer on 8.1 is intriguing me...
When you're already using the best (suse) and they break your favorite feature, who to you turn to? Mandrake?? I'm trying Debian Woody (stable) right now and it has some nice features, but the installer is behind the times.
And, if anyone knows how to use Apt or Dselect or ANYTHING to LIST WHAT FILES A PACKAGE CONTAINS, like the ' rpm -ql pkgname ', please email me!! .
What about the smell? Not to mention you'd have to scrub the thing clean from all the residual fuel left inside and pressurize it before it could be occupied. That's a LOT of air... .
This is not really related, but altho I love the Monday and Thu wrestling shows, I'm NOT watching tonight. They're having a gay-marriage "ceremony" that probably won't even be interrupted by the Superstar of the Week(TM).
Wrestling shows sometimes go where they shouldn't. I made it a point to switch to WCW when the Undertaker was doing the faux-Satanic ritual crap, too.
Drop the politically/religiously sensitive crap and get back to real wrestling and character development please, WWE!! .
Season One could not possibly have been any better - until the last episode, where they whip out the Stupid Time Travel Gimmick and WIPE OUT THE WHOLE FSCKING FIRST SEASON!:(
Season Two was anxiously awaited. Alas, it is crap. Sort-of-refined crap, but notnetheless not anywhere NEAR the first season's level of quality.
As a result, after five weeks or so of Season Two Wichblade, I reprogrammed my VCR and remarked to my friends, "It's a sad day when Monday night Wrestling is more interesting that the current season of Witchblade."
On a side note, I like what I've seen of Farscape, but haven't been able to watch it much. Maybe ~8 or 10 episodes. However, I'm sad to hear it's being cancelled.
Networks need to be Beaten About the Head and Shoulders with Ye Olde ClueBat(TM). .
I went to the comic site and compared the two pics, MIT and the cover shot. Compare them side-by-side and you will clearly see the girl's suit and body position are IDENTICAL in both pics, and (importantly) the shape of the GUN is the same (except for some added army-type lettering in the MIT pic.
Looks like the Radix ppl have an airtight case to me. .
Same thing with superglue. Glue your fingers together and try pulling them apart, incredibly hard to impossible. Ah, but rub your fingers like you're trying to light them on fire by friction, and voila! Something about the "shear" strength of the bonding. .
If you can get this to work, let us know about it. Even better, email the guy that runs the site and maybe he can make it available for download as well.:) .
I started out using KDE, then found out Gnome loads faster and uses less resources. So I switched.
At any rate, TRY EVERYTHING - Icewm, Blackbox, Sawfish, Wmaker, and then USE WHAT YOU LIKE.
I even use different WMs for different applications. If I'm just running Vmware, I don't need KDE or Gnome, I just ' xinit/opt/whatever/sawfish ', start rxvt, then run vmware from there. Minimal resources. .
Agreed that Troi was a HOTTIE in First Contact (aka Da Borg Movie.) ST:FC was the best movie since ST2:TWOK. My favorite scene was where she was acting drunk.:) Very much of a breakout role for her character.
And let's face it, Doc Crusher was ALWAYS a hottie. .
Seriously, when you are THAT pissed off, you really do need to take some "time out", talk to your pastor/counselor, and do whatever it takes to keep yourself from landing in jail.;-) .
It's all about the $$$ and $$$deadlines$$$. They don't have the first, and still have to make the second. If the military and NASA swapped budgets for one year, we'd probably have hotels on the Moon by now. The kind of equipment NASA is using has been in continuous use for decades because they lack the funding for alternatives. Plus, the equipment is so unique and complex that it's very hard to work on some of these parts. I'm not surprised that these kinds of problems are only being found now. (But as someone already pointed out, better now than after an accident.)
(Of course, swapping budgets means the national defense would go hungry and salary+pensions wouldn't be paid, the VA hospitals would be even worse then they are now, ad infinitum.) But it would be nice to see the space program get decent funding for a few years. .

I hope you're right about the listening part...
Oh, and I hope they've finally fixed the problem in 7.x where you can't create any files on whatever type of filesystem that are larger than 2G!

Based on my recent Kennedy Space Center tour, that "joke" may have some basis in fact--! :)

I feel the same way about Witchblade.

Offer to make the guy an immediate partner, with 5% take off profits, and I think he'll at least give it some serious consideration.
