    No... That means MS Windows is now a forbidden OS in Finland... the "shift-key bypass" is a feature in MS Windows...

    Anyone using Windows should now format the drive containing the tool of evil...
    ...and everybody must contact the authorities so the distribution of Windows in Finland can be stopped ASAP...

    well... No, not really :
    1. on w2k and wxp: it does not work if C: is your system drive and you have booted from it.
    2. It will ask you for confirmation.
    3. It is destructive in a meaningless way...

    ...is RoboCopy
    It copies anything anywhere including security info (if needed)... locally or over the lan.
    It will not copy similar files unless it is forced to do it.
    It will wait for "mount", it will retry on failure.
    ...and it is able to make a mirror of a directory...
    RoboCopy is THE best CLI utility provided by MSFT, it is a part of the Resource Kit for Win NT4 and W2K...

    Another cool utility from the W2K Resource Kit is NETSVC. It is a remote NET command.

    No I'm not a MSFT fanboy... I just like those two utils...

    MS can't do that... all those bundled applications are free and that is the differnce.

    Well...
    1. A printer driver shouldn't be able to BSOD a system... should it ?
    2. Most good software for Windows is too expensive...
    3. No it is not. Windows only emulates a fast boot... you may get a "Windows has not completed the boot process" error if you login as soon as the login screen appears.
    4. Say what ??
    5. Aha... no you are righ... Windows has the most beautiful registry... a very organized and well documented place where nothing can go wrong...

    That is excactly why MA has changed the requirement to include OpenDocument support.
    The project can't be "killed" by the M$ std. strategy (the "give it to them for free if nessesary" strategy, if you didn't know), and TCO is irrelevant if the product can't pass the requirements.

    My friend... you are one of those persons who will wake up one morning and realize that you can't use your PC (or MAC) if you don't pay a monthly fee.
    Your are of course right a tool (in this case a computer) must fit the need (not the flavour), but DRM may (or should I say will) eliminate any computer system without DRM support.
    DRM may (and will be) used for controlling how, where and when software and data should be used.
    If there is a way to control, use or misuse a system it will be exploited, either by criminals, greedy corporations or, in the worst case, the government. We have seen it before and we will see it again...

    So... You are seriously telling us that a switch from MS to Apple is less painfull than a switch from MS to Linux ??
    That is a joke isn't it ?
    I've just been there... a shift from Windows to OS X is as much pain in the ass as a shift from Windows to Linux for a normal user...
    I think your "problem" is not the OS, it is Office or propably something from Adobe... and you're just hiding behind the OS problems...

    If there is no GPS or GSM/GPRS involved in the IP-phone (wich may be a softphone) then there are NO BLOODY WAY to localize it ! The call may go thru a VPN from L.A. to D.C. !
    I think it is possible to make a cheap and simple reciver for GSM Station ID broadcast messages. It could be implemented as a USB-key and the phone/softphone would only work if this key was connected.
