BTW: Their algorithm looks very similar to a P2P tracker (like bittorrent) without the peers telling anything about how much datablocks they have/want.
It's a well documented fact that smoking cigarettes causes cancer. We don't ban the purchase of these itmes. We just tax it ($3.50 a pack in Michigan BTW). Then prohibit where a person may smoke.
I have an idea create a new section in resturants for cell phone users.
Better yet a Surgeon General Warning on the back of the cell phone
Warning... According to the surgeon general using a cellular phone may expose you to harmful radiation.
When I build computers I tend to prefer drives that do not sound like jet engines while running.
I recently purchased a lite on dvd burner that was louder than a vacume cleaner. NEC seems to do the best job at making quiet drives.
Which would you rather do? Write a single application that would run on all Windows systems, or six different ones, each with its own unique quality assurance and support problems?
Lets see...
Windows NT,
Windows 95,
Windows 98,
Windows ME,
Windows 2000 Professional,
Windows XP Home,
Windows XP Professional,
Windows 2003 Server(Standard Edition,Enterprise Edition,Datacenter Edition, Web Edition),
Windows Vista
You would be out of your mind to think a application compiled on one of these platforms would work on all!
AMD by far has a superior product for the use in servers. However companys like Dell will never use AMD in the servers because of the exclusive deals with Intel. Dell would have to pay more for Intel chips if they used AMD anywhere.
I wish AMD the best of luck and hopefully our judicial system will not take 3+ years to resolve this.
While at a MSTeched conference I asked a product manager why they were considering an XML format for the next version of office. I was told even Microsofts developers are disturbed by the format of.DOC files. A WORD doc is basically a memory map dump. So if a Word file becomes corrupt its almost impossible to repair.
Heres a link to the new format whitepaper.

Good point. I doubt a lot of companys are investing in new mainframes. I know smaller companys cannot afford them. A lot of larger companys are looking at or are implementing SAP solutions that are distributed.
Tablet computers are nothing new. Where I work we have a deployment of 1500 ruggedized units (http://www.walkabout-comp.com/) since 1995. In 1995 we were running Windows 3.1 with Pen Windows. Then later upgraded the OS to 95 and 98 and still used Pen Windows.
The included pen controls were nice and easy to use. Albeit the handwritting recongnition left a lot to be desired.
Darl McBride to be given an award for his contributions to the GNU/LINUX community.
McBride will be honored for the 2 million lines of SYS V code that have been contributed into Linux Operation System.

You'd guess that Steve Jobs will at least have to walk out onto the lawn in Cupertino
I would be willing to guess he'll be wearing a black turtle neck!

I love your keyboards, but I trust a drunk man's predictions of the tech market more than I do yours
No no no... Dvorak is a music composer! He's not a blowhard he plays a stringed instrument.

The nano actually allows a car stereo sytem to amplify the sound! What will Apple think of next?
How about xploading batteries... Oh wait that was in the IPOD.
Where I work we have testing scripts that perform most of our testing. Couldn't most kernel features be tested by scripts or automated processes?
In Michigan people use the palm of their hand to reference where a place is. I always joked thank God we don't live in florida!!!
The problem is GigaByte's parent company TeraByte has been widely critisized for its use of MegaByte.
Thanks for the review!
