    After China took the suggestions of myself and others to investigate converting their most modern coal power plant designs to cogeneration and start using air scrubbers (which use water for the most part), resulting in the same quantity of coal producing twice as much end power and heating, they were able to shelve the bad designs. With the added solar and wind power they have now found is cheaper is coal, they sidelined an additional quantity of coal plants as well.

    The game is over. We won.

    Adapt.

  3. I just think the hoopla over telemetry is unwarranted. It's hype over something that isn't much of anything. People only care about this issue because techweenies keep bringing it up as some sort of evil overlord ordeal when it's really nothing so sinister, nor glamorous, it's just stupid statistics that no one should honestly give a flying f about.

    technically, Obama can pardon him for certain crimes. But is unlikely to if he doesn't make a deal in 3 days. He'll still serve time in jail for any crimes not listed, but it's better than what Putin will eventually do to Snowden.

    His best offer is likely to be a few years in federal jail in the US proper. He'd better reach out now. The door will close soon.

    The sentence was a bit harsh, and some of the methods used during interrogation and imprisonment, meant that a reduced sentence was reasonable.

    Assange and Snowden need to make a deal now. Trump works for Russia, but he will hang them out to dry anyway, that's the kind of quisling he is.

    A 1970s myth. Modern solar and batteries work quite well. Friends of mine run solar businesses in BC and Alberta.

    Even perpetually cloudy days give you 70-80 percent the energy that clear days give you.

    Then buy a solar panel and trickle charge it yourself.

    Gosh you snowflakes are so special. Serfs to the utilities. Paying the government cheddar because you can't grok that solar and wind are cheaper than fossil fuels and you can install it yourself - 90 percent of the cost is labor.

    But seriously, that needs to be solved. We don't all live in California or Texas or Arizona where there's sun all year around for solar power.

    Buy a plug-in electric car, SUV, or truck (they sell them for $9000 in China today and in First World nations like Canada) and stick it to the man.

    Take back your own money and fill your tank with electrons that cost 1/20th what imported Russian gasoline does.

    Another alternative is to get an IT job in the field that is your hobby.

    Say you are into dirt bikes - do IT for a company that does dirt bike racing. You'll get to use your skills and have fun doing it!

    I'm not so sure. If we can believe Comrade Trump, he's going to fire a lot of NSA CIA and FBI and other mil security folks, so it might not be as easy to get a job in that for the next few years, since there will be far more qualified people suddenly looking for civilian corporate work in that field.

    Of course, if he's just lying about that, and isn't a Russian operative, there should be an open field in security due to the ever increasing demand.
