The biggest dilemna facing Apple was that it was Tim Cook who negotiated the original agreement with Qualcomm, thus making life in this court case rather difficult to maintain their complaints.
What an utterly borked system you Usians have. Although now retired, even when working I did my tax return online in roughly 4 minutes. Gross Income, Pension deductions, Insurance etc. already uploaded to the Gov't site. My requirements were to upload dividends and interest received. Tax payable/refund due assessed instantly - with a review/refund cheque issued a couple of weeks later. And you still tax every cunt in the world if they have the cheek to leave your blessed land! Gord Bless the Almighty Merkin! (While maintaining separation of church + state of course...)
I'm rather confused as to where I stand on all this.
MS fooked up my Win10 installation for a 3rd time (2nd time after reinstall I lost all access to backup/restore - no drive access!).
I now have Ubuntu 10.04 installed, but cannot get my printer running as there are no (open source) drivers available, so the brand new printer is currently just a copier (and as a complete newbie can't figure it out - forums have been the usual helpful crowd...NOT!)
So much for the esteemed Linux hardware support - have tried Ubuntu previously without any grief.
come in multiple colors, and sport aluminum edges instead of the iPhone X's stainless steel casing. It will also have a cheaper LCD screen instead of an OLED panel to keep costs down.
What is Apple mark-up - 60 percent or so that I last heard.
Are they scared of losing a couple of those points?
Thieving cunts will still want £1000+ for the toys
Still stupid. 74% of yesterday is a huge loss - I would be crying in my (Manx) beer. Zuck is still a poisonous Cnt. Question for idiots - what does he actually do?
I would like to be worth 1%, then plan how to give that away...
A friend bought a decommissioned box and installed it at the bottom of his garden as a toilet (worked for Manx Telecom - google the firm, they were sold off by tender).
Cast Iron - you do not want to drop any part of one of these if you decide to strip down and clean up!
No pictures (fortunately) but there are many other uses, such as community shops, libraries etc.
I have been given/taken opiates twice in about 30 years. A 4 week course with a prolapsed disc, and a single oral shot three months ago after a drain was inserted for a collapsed lung. (that was painful)
WTF is going on with the best medical system in the fooking universe???
It's a trap! Sorry - it's crApple, so everyone loves their shiny new $1000+ (or in Uk 1000+ Pounds Sterling [slashdot still broken]) toy...
No - it's further walled gardening (of their entrapped users)
iOS may be a smooth experience, but I'm NOT getting locked into that 33% profit skimming world for software, and do not get me started on their hardware markups...
BTW When is the US going to manage to tax some of the vast sums amassed by Apple which are held offshore & achieved by NOT paying taxes anywhere else in the universe? #bad tweet
My thermostat is mostly on a basic automatic cycle to be cool at night and comfy during the day. We don't find it to be a big deal to set it to manual or off when we are gone for a while. We chose to live in a moderate climate where further optimization would net us less than our rounding error every month (heating and cooling are 2% of our gross income).
Well thanks for that NSA - keeping the new network where I live properly security vetted;-)
[I happen to live in the Isle of Man where the the new LTE stuff is being done with these (invisible) guys]
NB We had the first 3G network in Europe & the Japanese engineers were everywhere for development
I can't speak for everyone, but personally I value my lack of cancer more than I do my privacy.
Well I'm not really concerned as I'll *never* even stop in the USA however...
When the scanner operatives start a Class Action for elevated diseases (cancers/whatever - doesn't really matter) then the fan will start whirling at a good rate:-/
Apart from hiding the alleged apology/withdrawal it's worse than I'd possibly imagined - they're dressing the retraction (or whatever you want to call it) as a *Samsung* comment!!!
"On 25 October 2012, Apple Inc. published a statement on its UK website in relation to Samsung's Galaxy tablet computers. That statement was inaccurate and did not comply with the order of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. The correct statement is at Samsung/Apple UK judgement."
Note the last sentence - trying to address this as though Samsung 'misspoke'* - Methinks that Shakespeare had it correct in so many ways.
Their lawyers & designers need some corrective detention IMHO - the directors need a lot of the same + a big enough fine to seriously damage said people + a big enough fine to damage their profits for the past year. Stop trying to play games Apple.
I pre-ordered expecting delivery on 19th July but got a surprise when it was charged to my card on the 12th (@ 20:40) - delivered 09:35 on 13th, it arrived a week early;-) (ebuyer.com if you're interested, good service & no I don't work for them)
Royal Mail is really good IMO for that stuff you want, who needs a corporation to provide guaranteed delivery within 12 hours </chortle>
Well just to counter your point, I'm in the sunny Isle of Man (a small rock between England & Ireland - Google Maps is good I believe;-)
Pre-ordered on 11th July for expected shipping on 19th July, however I received a couple of emails earlier advising 'payment processed' @ 16:20 followed by 'order shipped' so it should arrive in the morning - almost a week before due.
The biggest dilemna facing Apple was that it was Tim Cook who negotiated the original agreement with Qualcomm, thus making life in this court case rather difficult to maintain their complaints.
The only text that you need to read is that Apple are Twats.

you strictly enforce it with hefty fines or jail time...
NO NO and No again - you enforce it with (high velocity) lead poisoning.

Truly fucked up reality distortion:

That is simply great!
I've not seen a reference to the mighty Echelon for a very long time.
Best post for years.
Still stupid.

FFS You loons.
This is probably the most interesting 'News for Nerds' in the past month - yet almost no comments, and those posted are attempting to be funny.
Where did Slashdot go?
RIP.
Absolutely - shower of cunts who never had a case and are now scared to back down.
Fetid Cunts.
Just wait until the new GDPR regulations kick in...

GREAT project if you ever get the opportunity..
This is absolute Madness!

Ye Gods! (or whatever you imagine) - an actual technology type story on /.
/snark>
Who could imagine such a thing?

SHHhh - how did you know that I actually live in the Isle of Man?
:-(
Please keep this to yourself, or the idiot politians will have us in the retarded EU before you can whistle
HOW many?
1.06 murders per 100,000
I happilly live in the Isle of Man with ~80.000 others.
We've just had the TT again, with an extra 30-40K visitors - the last murder I can recall was many years ago.
What is this world you live in?

Fook Me gently - TWO PERCENT!!!
Is your name Ecclestone perchance?
Your idea of a rounding error is obscene.
Well thanks for that NSA - keeping the new network where I live properly security vetted ;-)

This almost certainly won't be seen, however are your US regulators & lawyers aware that >50% of BP is owned by US pension schemes etc?
Cutting nose to spite face somewhat?

*what a horrible & stupid Americanism
Well I'm sorry to hear your side of things...
;-) (ebuyer.com if you're interested, good service & no I don't work for them)

Best thing I've bought in a long long time.
Just buy one.

I'll be happy with the new toy certainly...
I can't imagine this reply being seen, however I happen to live in the glorious Isle of Man (look it up - home of the TT motorcycle races).
My 2 bed house is ~490 square feet, with a market value of ~£200K. That's quite a lot of your US dollars I believe...
