Except that now you have to provide personal information nowadays when you get a "disposable" phone. Older ones without the GPS are being phased out, and if i recall correctly, the providers no longer supported them after January of this year. Face it, there are no anonymous cell phones. That's what you get for using any wireless device. Eventually it has to communicate somewhere if you intend to use it, and from there it's a matter of triangulating signal even if it doesn't use GPS.

It seems like every week Slashdot has a story on Second Life doing this or that or bla blah blah. What I want to know is: Who is the Second Life Paid Publicity Whore? After all, we're talking about a game with less than 1/10th the players of World of Warcraft, and yet there seem to be almost as many stories about it on Slashdot. Exactly whose palm is getting greased here?

Smell that, gentlemen? That's the smell of 100% genuine Astroturf!

    Crow T. Trollbot

It also seems like every week Second Life is, in fact, doing this or that. Given that second life is the first of its kind, this isn't surprising. Remember the story last week about the casinos? (if you don't, i'm sure it'll be posted again sometime this week) Maybe if NASA had chosen to use WoW, this story would be about WoW. Shouldn't you insinuate that someone at NASA is getting their palms greased by someone at Slashdot so that they have stories to post about Second Life to keep their plams getting greased? Second Life is innovative sometimes, imitative sometimes, but frankly, it's always interesting to see people's new applications.

So... uh... where's this incestuous obsession come in to play? If you'll read the book, and/or any of the sequels, their relationship is completely platonic. They're just close to one another. In speaker for the dead, it mentions that they sometimes think like husband and wife, but that there is no sexual or romantic attraction between the two. Also, to nitpick, Ender's Game doesn't take place during a war, it takes place at the beginning of a war. The first and second invasions are already over, and Ender is training to lead the Third Invasion, which does not take place until about the last quarter of the book. Ender's game did have quite a bit to do with xenophobia, but mostly it comments on religion and warmongering.

Don't RFID tags have weight? I wouldn't say I'm an expert at stealing, but I've kyped my fair share of convenience store candy, and I'd certainly notice a little bulge on the bag, or the extra weight, and grab an unmarked one. It'd certainly be a little trickier, but if you're good at the sleight and shifting your weight right, they won't notice you switching out the tagged one for the untagged one; and shouldn't've noticed you in the first place. Unless everything becomes tagged... then I could just drop the object in a specially prepared aluminum foil bag in my pocket, right? Which would cost... $0.30 to make? Not to mention, some XBox games are very processor intensive. Take a look at Halo 2. You can see the pop-in graphics and such. Imagine how much better Halo 2 would be on a system with X360 specs. Halo 2 also lags on a four-player split screen on the XBox in some circumstances, but the new hardware would alleviate that. The new hardware isn't going to matter too much for all the games, but it'll have a significant impact on others.

Given the fact that series (Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cardcaptor Sakura, DragonballZ) have shown that kids don't care about competent dubbing, I doubt Toonami will have too much of it. But comparing the [Adult Swim] anime to the subbed version, the dubs of many of the series they run have been very high quality.
Fullmetal Alchemist, [Adult Swim]'s latest anime draw, has even appeared in its entirety, with no content dubbed out (at least, with the last episode comparison I read). Also given the fact that Toonami has been relegated to the late-afternoon Saturday block once a week, its popularity has gone down (at least in the communities I frequent). Right now, I think [Adult Swim] is the main anime draw for cartoon network, and will stay that way.
By the way, Naruto is coming to Toonami. Which means it'll be shown probably once a week on Saturday. All 200+ episodes of it. That's over 4 years. And even if they do show it multiple times on Saturday, Cartoon Network will probably only buy it a couple seasons at a time, and just keep re-showing the first few until people get tired of it. That's what they did with DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho Samurai Champloo is coming also coming to CN, on [AS].
