    You have it all wrong. It isn't about the controller or the game itself. It is about the social interaction that make the game fun. There is no learning curve, no complexity, just simple play. The complex "gamer" world is basically anti-social. The human is a social animal.

    Wii returns the social aspect to the gaming experience. This is the reason for it's popularity. When the high end game market figures this out and solves this, they too will experience enormous sales.

    How about benchmarking frame rates on the real platform. Friends don't let friends play games on Vista. All of the serious gamers I know avoid it like the plague because of crappy frame rates and poor performance.

    when Pong first came out it was only instructions in Popular Electronics (I think) magazine. You bought the PCB from somewhere and the chips and discretes from wherever (local Radio Shack, Digi-Key, etc) and assembled it yourself. My brother-in-law and I played for hours and hours on the TV. This was around 1974-75.

    The Internet is an invention of the United States. We read and write in English using ASCII. If you want to connect to our Internet, then use our rules. If you want to do different, then, use your own but don't call it the Internet because that is our invention.

    It is a waste of money. My kids have had computer labs all through grade and middle school to learn how to use the software, not use the software as a crutch. Even in high school, some math classes don't use calculators because they are learning the principles by hand first. My boys are very computer literate because of this and have skills they can exercise without the computer as well.

    The keyword here is "stories". I am really wondering how much of these Wikileaks documents are just stories (fiction) and how many are really leaked documents. These could be so easily fabricated. I question all sorces (/. included) on the internet as anything can be faked here: http://www.snopes.com/photos/space/blackout.asp

    I have the $900 to spend. Actually I have a bit more which will get me a lot more software that what I can get for the Mac. In fact, I cannot afford the thousands of $$ for the software that I can get four a few hundred on the PC. Macs are nice but prohibitively expensive.

    This may be true as M$ may not ever release a new OS after the massive failure of Vista. The only way it sells is to force it down the throats of those buying new computer who don't have a clue. Even many of those buyers are buying XP to replace that piece of crap.

    Not happening in this state. My only view is to vote for the least of the evils that stand a chance to win. It isn't necessarily my best choice but the only practical choice I have as a third party candidate has little chance to make any dent in the elections.

    The original message in this thread indicates that wikileaks should be prosecute, and I think as traitors. The real question here is: how much of the information on the web site is real and how much is manufactured to look as fact. I really doubt that much of the information is very real. I suspect that fake information was added to documents that weren't secure in the hopes of making people look bad. Besides that, NONE OF THE MILITARY DOCUMENTS ARE SUBJECT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT. They are military which makes them not public.

    Saving everything is not even remotely possible. They must filter out 90% or more of the content. There is just too much data. To be effective, all traffic must go to a point where it is filtered. That point must be secure so that is probably what this room is.

    To convict the government to big brotherism on this evidence is simmilar to what Direct TV has done with their lawsuites. Just because you purchase certain equipment, the know you have stolen the satellite TV. If you own a gun, then you must have committed murder.

    This is why my family avoids buying anything made in China as much as possible. If it has a "made in China" label, we usaully don't buy it. We can't avoid it all together as you can't always know but, when we have a choice, we make it wisely. I have always questioned the widsom of the U.S. buying so many products from China. Since this country's government is anti democracy, anything coming from that country is in question. They are still our enemy.
