    Now there is Thievery, a Unreal Tournament (the original) mod that does a guards vs thieves thing. There's also the modification to Thief 2 to make that co-op. It's not a bad idea but it does seem like one that could be easily, easily, implemented poorly and, ultimately, waste time and effort that could have been used to flesh out and polish up other areas of the game. Add in the disappoints of Thief 3 (small levels, no rope arrows, no water, "body awareness", third person perspective) and it doesn't look promising.

    Yes, I'm sure they can and will continually tweak the system but it's, well, pretty damn good. What this means is that barring some huge and amazing shift in computing, the best Bing can do is match Google, and in that case, what would be the point in switching?

    And even if it was, do you know how god damn annoying it is to read a paper after it's been rolled up?

    Look, laptops do it right. The hinge? That's a crease, a fold line, and allows this thing that otherwise should not be bent to use space more efficiently. A cylinder is will have that big empty volume in the middle. Well, it will until the slightest bit of pressure to the sides squeezes it flat.

    "Cash taxes" probably means "fines for breaking the law but with no admittance of guilt nor change of plans because this is a pittance compared to the profit we're making".

    Now is it just me or maybe I really lost a lot of brain cells in my early twenties, but does it feel newish to anyone else that every god damn show seems to spend half the time briefing people after the commercial about what happened and what's going to happen, it happens, and then they explain what's going to happen after the commercial? Not just news although it sort of feels like I'm seeing more commercials for the news than I spend actually watching the news. It's like being on a website that asks if I want to follow them through Facebook.

    I do believe my cat would make a fine hat for warmth and I have plenty of nutritious (if fishy) wet and dry food available. Fortunately, just about the only thing I face would be a burly earthquake and hordes of dumbshit Seattleites panicking if the last 3-4 inches of snow we had is any indication.

    Interesting, then, that you quote the upcoming Deus Ex game. The inclusion of cover-based shooting and closeup, insta-kill moves will drastically move the game ever further away from the original than the schlock that was Invisible War.
