Of course, it's not any of the half-a-dozen amazing DS games that make it so great combined, its this ONE game, which came out well over a few months ago. It's a great game, I own it, but for them to claim it's the driving force behind DS sales is sheer arrogance.
So? You take a risk of spilling coffe on your laptop if you do it in a coffee house, so you just have to take care of your electronics. Besides, what's with your banging of the DS lineup.
Seriously, several hundred thousand more hotspots and you're unhappy?
And guess what. I play video games more than ever these days. Perhaps the decline has to do with the end of the console cycles? The last big hit to pull people into gaming was sadly Halo and Halo 2, and all they've done is spawn the underbelly of gaming society, the Halo Freaks.
Perhaps it's because they don't play the right video games? The great games on the DS have revived my interest in gaming completely.
Maybe it works, but I sure won't have it. There should be an option to turn it off, or the like. At least I won't have to worry about Nintendo advertising anything but its other games.
Good point, but this isn't a US-specific list is it? Both of them actually came out in Japan in 2004, the fact that sony waited until 2005 to bring it stateside is just a testament to their laziness.
I'd hate to come off as a fanboy, but the fact that PSP made a decent appearance on the list while the DS didn't touch it makes me question the research behind it. Shouldn't a device centered around software actually HAVE decent software to make this list? Sony's even been crippling homebrew, which negates its best use so far.
You're both (to a degree) wrong. You don't need tow copies of the game to play multiplayer. You don't need two DSs to play multiplayer. Hotseat mode. It is pure genius. You only pass around the DS to each person. I've played it myself.
Oh, and as strategy games go, Advance Wars is easy to learn. It's simplistic nature made it possible to tell my friends the basics, and they figured out the rest. One friend even gave me an excellent run for my money. He was setting up covering fire, blocking his shorelines, attempting to retake the crucial, yet seemingly inert central island... I couldn't believe it since it was his first time laying eyes on the game. He bought a DS shortly after.
Simply put... You're lying. Or at least twisting words. Perhaps it didn't need the additional battery, but I'm sure you plugged it in somehow. You can not run the PSP for 12 hours period, not even on Mp3s.
Movies are the most costly use battery-wise, since it has to read from the disk constantly. You'd be lucky to get four hours. After paying all the money for a PSP, a usefully-sized memory stick, the movie you want (even though you could get a much better deal for DVDs), and still needing to buy an additional battery, and you still have clothes on your back?
Yeah, Advance Wars tops that list easily. I love mine, but the multiplayer is so much better than just the wireless. The hotseat mode ensures that you can have multiplayer fun even without more than 1 DS.
I can't wait for this one, and I'm so glad they decided to delay it for this. Making it without online would have been a very bad idea.
Also, MetroidHunters.com has updated with three new Hunters. That rounds out to 6 new hunters and good old Samus Aran. Videos and all.
FPS games should be confined to the PC, and possibly systems that have some other way to control it, because dual analog just isn't worthy in comparison to mouse and keyboard. Too bad people don't have this common sense.
FPS games simply havn't had much impact. I play them frequently as well, but FPS games (with the exception of a couple good squad based games) are simply run and gun. There's little room for real innovation. Old school and strategy games are what it's all about. Oh, and about skill levels... Wow, you can aim your mouse faster... Lets see who would win a game of X-Com fastest, or master a species on starcraft. I like UT04 and BF2 as much as the next guy, but that's what real games are.
I think it's fairly easy to see that the list is geared toward respecting both the best games of all time, and the most historically important. It's top is devoted to both. Games like OoT, SMB, and X-COM made the top many.
Also, I think SMB would do quite well considering games like Alien Homonid. Then again, if it had never existed before, would we have a video game market? It would likely mean no donkey kong, no sonic, possibly no megaman, and none of the mario games in between.
Ok, slashdot is a bit behind here. They've been revealing these 10 at a time for a couple weeks, and they've been done for nearly as long. Also, X-COM (Otherwise known as UFO: Enemy Unknown) was moved down four spaces. The top 8 used to be my best experiences in gaming (with the exception of Master of Orion, but I'm happy with its placement), but no longer...
Also, their reasoning for the placement of Metroid Prime is more than a bit odd.
It's simple. Luke wasn't "the one", but he was an important part of the prophesy. Vader destroyed the sith, the jedi were all dead, and luke's combination of traits leads to a new breed of force sensitive heroes, relying on both emotion and serenity. That's the true "Balance of the Force" brought about by vader.

Perhaps it's not senility, perhaps it's more like the recent Watergate revalation. He wanted to get it off his back before he died.

You can go further online that an MMO?
Nintendo is trying to achieve 75% online penetration of the DS and Revolution market, and they're making good strides.

Yeah, half the story was just an add for NC...
Obviously phones were quickly going to replace iPods when they got enough memory, so Apple was smart to put their foot in the door.
Does the internet not exist? Can you not see the horrible games lineup?

Umm... Anyone ever heard of a little game called Fire Emblem? You can bet that's on my list.

I have never known a girl that was very big on video games, but my sister is a tetris wiz. She does do some online puzzle games, but that's about it.
