Why not teach him how to properly handle a gun instead of running and hiding? Always treat the barrel of the gun as if the gun could fire at any moment without cause. Let him hold the gun just make sure he always points it away from people preferably at the ground, since pointing it in the air could result in injuring someone else far away. Basically if the barrel of the gun is ever pointed in the direction of a person consider them shot.
I don't understand why guns are so taboo. There are many things that will kill you just as quickly and easily as a gun. Plastic bags, charcoal grills, syringe, chain saw, knife, piece of glass, carrot, pea-nut, hot-dog, etc. I can go on and on. I'm sorry but everyone is going to die one day, get used to it. Accidents happen, people die and then people have to live with the consequences. Everyone else on the planet shouldn't have to suffer for this mans stupidity. Our lives are short and we are all going to die, we should be able to enjoy our lives while we still have them, we shouldn't be locking up the entire population in padded rooms over ever accident that happens. There are nearly 6 billion people on this planet, statistically a lot more people should be dying from this type of stupidity. It is news because it is so rare; that shows how irrelevant it is. There is no need to press charges on this man and there is no need to create new laws to prevent this from happening. It was an accident. It was statistically bound to happen to someone, sucks it had to be him he just won the shitty lotto.
FYI, they say the lotto is a tax on stupid people, but in life we're all playing a game of poor statistics, the fact that any of us are still alive is a miracle. So I play the lotto $1 at a time once a week when the jackpot is over 40 million. I have better odds of winning the lottery than that idiot did of having his kid killed by a handgun.
I'm convinced that the air compressor was invented by some guy who was having sex doggy style and noticed that as he rapidly pulled in an out air started compressing in his partners vagina. Next time your having sex with your partner and really going at it notice how your penis works just like an air compressor forcing air into the vagina. I'm convinced that many scientific insights occur in the bedroom.
I miss the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. That game was awesome and introduced me to the strategy genre. I just wish they(blizzard) would re-release it. Warcraft2 and Warcraft3 are also good, but I still miss the original.
The trick to minesweeper is finding the plain text high score file and then setting your hi-scores just a little lower than any of your co-workers could ever achieve. It will keep them busy for hours, while you get to be all productive. I call it my secret to success.
The most successful person I've ever known, my father, told me the secret to good grades in school. He would take a tape recorder to class and record the lecture, then after class he would go home and transcribe the notes. He was amazed how much he would miss during the lecture. The other students in his class would complain at test time that the professor never covered the material, but my father always had the answers. There were there in his transcriptions.
When I went to college I attempted this method, but I didn't have the stamina. I ended up with a B/C average when I graduated, but I had a lot of fun. I'm not making seven figures like he does, hell I'm not even earning six figures yet. So was having no social life worth the seven figure salary? Definitely, but how to you train yourself to have that level of self discipline?
The reason transcribing works so well is that during the lecture you miss a large percentage of the material to distractions, then on top of that you only remember a fraction of that. By transcribing the lecture you get exposed at least once to 100% of the material covered, then you can re-enforce what you've covered later when you review the transcripts.
I found that I get caught up in the computer and what I'm working on and forget to stop and eat. When I get really focused on my work I'll forget to stop and eat and when I'm playing a new game I may only eat once a day for the first weekend.
Then there are the successes. They are wonderful, but not that common.
Most cancers now have treatment rates in the upper 90%'s, there are few cancers which can't be successfully treated. The biggest issue when treating cancer is when it is diagnosed.
Dear God did you really use their branded iReport. Can't there be professional freelance reporters? Do they really need to call their reports by the generic CNN iReport, isn't that kind of iTerm overused? How about I'm a regular contributor to CNN, they pay my bills as a free lance contractor, I also sub my articles out to the AP and other news organizations.
Unintended acceleration is why everyone needs to learn to drive a manual transmission first. Step one: press the clutch. Problem solved. In the case of an automatic: put the car in neutral. Then the car can no longer overpower the emergency brake, oh yeah did you forget cars have those? They have them for a reason.
When I bought my Tivo it came with a lifetime subscription built in. I think they still do that, so instead of $12 a month you pay them an extra $100 up front. Seemed like a no brainer.
There was a great site gabocorp.com that in early 1996 was one of the coolest flash sites ever. The site is still there but the original site sampled some Akira sound bites for buttons and stuff and the guy who created it was doing things with flash that other people hadn't even imagined at the time. It would be awesome to see that old site archived, but the wayback machine didn't keep the flash in its archive so none of the old stuff works anymore.
That is a bad assumption on his part. Drug dealers have different priorities than most people. I used to know people who would gross 100k a week dealing drugs. The thing is they would have to pay 60k back to the suppliers and then they would split 10k each and would pick up girls and take them on shopping sprees to get laid and would spend the rest on stuff like cloths and drugs for themselves. They really didn't have any money left at the end of the week. Owning houses that you bought with drug money doesn't work out very well when the IRS comes knocking, so they would blow all their funds on consumables during the week.
Eventually they got caught and spent about 5 years in jail each. But for the 2 or 3 years they were earning that kind of cash and spending it on cloths, cars, women and drugs they lived like rock stars. The problem is that you do get caught and it is a very rough life. You have to have a very low moral standard that most of society can't stomach. But from the pictures it looked like a lot of fun. Even knowing about the 5 years hard time at the end.
Oh, and women like drug dealers. You get a girl hooked on your supply and you can get laid whenever you like. Not everything can be measured in dollars.
This "problem" isn't a problem at all, it is an opportunity for a business. The freedom of the Android platform could use some development house to take the lead. They should pick a platform or 3 that are the most popular and develop their own version of Android as well as quality applications and quality application reviews. They need to find the best apps in the app market and improve them and brand them so that they are guaranteed to work on their version of Android and have customer support or at least real bug tracking and message boards for suggestions to bug fixes. Maybe even sell it as a monthly service. Something that would really stand out.
If I didn't already have a job and I had the start up capital I would have already been working on it, but since I have a nice job and no start up capital I leave it up to someone else to develop a business around the Android platform. Currently there is a hodgepodge of unheard of development houses making apps that look like they were developed by undergrads.
However trolling this is easy. Vaccinating a population so that they survive actually lowers their standard of living because now there are more mouths to feed and less resources to take care of them. Technically speaking, i.e. just running the numbers it would have been better to just let them die so that the survivors could have a better standard of living. See now that wasn't so hard to Troll.
It is one thing for unscrupulous behavior to happen, it is another to encourage it. Their motives may be "pure" in that they are trying to bring awareness about what people know about you and what "could" happen. That doesn't mean it should happen. Not everyone is a crook and we should all strive to not be crooks, it is better for everyone. There used to be a time when everyone left there doors unlocked and trusted the community to not rob them. Now the community is encouraging people to rob people. The issue isn't people sharing their information, its people like these guys who are just being ass holes. We shouldn't have to hide our information, people should just respect each other enough not to steal their stuff.
An oldie, but a goody.

Start your own fiber bandwidth company. The most expensive cost will probably be the right of way to run the cables.

I'm sorry but the activities that I engage in that they don't like have to do with looking at scantily clad women and having sex.

Yeah, I got RickRolled by NPR this morning.
You will find this funny.

What is the big deal? I hate DRM as much as the next guy, but nobody is complaining to Blizzard that they can't play their game offline.
What is shady about it? Should they just redirect to the proper spelling?
doesn't mean you should.
