People who are opposed to endoscopy need to find a new gastroenterologist who is familiar with medications like demerol/versed or propofol. Seriously, I have had a couple dozen scopes in my life (colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatographies... i.e. ERCPs) and the worst part of all of them was the preparation before hand. I'm not a large guy and I have some digestion issues, so fasting and "prepping" for 24 hours before hand makes me pretty miserable. The actual scope is pretty relaxing comparatively speaking...
I worked for the Computer Science department of the state run university where I live, and we sent out an email that sounded something like that... of course, it occurred on the first day of the fourth month. But it was rather amazing how many concerned emails we got in response.
That sounds similar to what happened with my brother. (mostly) Worthless kid teeth, normal adult teeth. He's in his 20's now and seems to do just fine.
I suppose you might be wondering why a root canal might be performed on a "baby tooth" when such teeth are temporary. I believe the answer you are looking for can be found with a simple google search for "pediatric root canal".
I'm not a dentist so I can't say why for sure. But it seems that the reason has to do with even though the teeth are temporary they still serve several purposes. 1) They are place holders for the permanent teeth. Removing one before the adult tooth is developed can lead to movement and spacing problems. 2) Even though the teeth will fall out, they are still teeth. If the child is young enough (as my brother was), tearing out a molar at 4 years old is going to leave a gaping hole in his/her mouth for close to a decade. If the tooth is sick and needs to be repaired, you do what needs to be done.
Perhaps he was like my little brother and he had poor tooth enamel and every trip to the dentist resulted in several cavities. This wasn't a kid who ate an abnormal amount of candy, he just had problems with his teeth.
This isn't about punishment versus reward, it's about children being frightened at the doctor's office. The drug is going to be administered regardless of the method, this is just attempting to make that process a little easier for EVERYONE involved.
But if smacking your kids gets them to sit still through a root canal, I suppose withholding sedative medication is ok.
As for me and mine, we will be taking the sedation for the procedure... any way they offer.
I don't understand the uproar over the fact that someone is attempting to enforce the restraints suggested by the ESRB. I suppose you might actually be upset that they are wasting tax dollars... but if that is the case, then say so. (The article seems to notice this, I'm just referring to the replies that I have read so far)
If you have a problem with the idea that a game rated "Mature" might only be appropriate for someone "mature", then consider what the article actually says. The Utah legislature didn't make that call, they are just trying to enforce it.
If a user can't be bothered to check what comes in the version of a product they are buying (whether it is a cell phone plan or an operating system), then they deserve whatever they get.
I don't understand why it is so outrageous that Windows offers different packages at different prices... "Choices???? Won't someone think of the children".
If they decided to just package it up into 1 version (or 2 for the hell of it), people would be screaming about the option to opt out of things they feel they don't need.
welcome to booting to a windows domain managed from some other part of the country on a computer running Desktop Authority...:( I just don't bother logging out anymore. Standby works well enough for me when I need to take my laptop somewhere.
And if they were to later kill some people we could prosecute them for murder, which is also a criminal matter. Point is... so what? The original court order had nothing to do with what they might do in the future.

... the future will focus on minimalism and getting one thing right.
Whatever happened to "a long time ago... in a galaxy far, far away"?
or perhaps
Up to 90% of money seized during drug raids has traces of drugs

Funny how morons seem to get that wrong...

No joke man. (from the original cuttings) http://blogs.wsj.com/biztech/2008/02/06/conspiracy-theories-behind-those-cut-undersea-cables/ The link is worth the click for the image alone.
A mod +5 funny?
... we can't have nukler power. You don't want there to be two moons, now do you? What would you do with two moons????

Orrin Hatch wants you to join the "we'll blow up your computer" army. Do you have what it takes?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
... and he was also president at the turn of the last century.
I was thinking something along the same lines, but more like Peter, Michael and Samir
That doesn't really tell you much though (except for the fact that a prominent spammer died recently).
I would try looking at something more like this for information about spammers dying in the past few years: http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=spammer+found+dead&sa=N&lnav=m&scoring=t

There should be a "-1 Monty Python and/or Princess Bride" moderation reason...
I haven't had a conjugal visit in months... where do I sign up?
and how long do you honestly expect that to last?
Don't be evil, except when either 1) someone big and powerful starts to flex your direction or 2) it makes you lots of money.
