Yeah right. I just put my baby in her crib with a big, cuddly paperclip. There's no noise coming out of the baby monitor, so I can only assume she's fast asleep.

However, in MPH you could only speak to your friends before and after a match, while the article states in Pokemon "players talk with friends before, during and after battles". It's a nice touch, though. MPH voice chat works great and I hope more DS games include the feature.

    Huh?

I should have elaborated instead of sounding like a troll. When the PSP debuted, games were scant, but people wanted to use their new hardware so they bought what was in supply: UMD movies. Perhaps now the same thing is happening with the PS3 and Blu-Ray movies.

  14. PS3 Price Drop = Xbox 360 Price Drop on Sony Open to Considering PS3 Price Cuts · · Score: 3, Informative

The original Xbox dropped $100 5 months after its launch, 1 day after Sony dropped $100 from the price of the PS2 (both down to $199). Let's hope one of them budges and history repeats itself, because I am really interested in Gears of War and Crackdown, and the triumphant return of co-op play.

  15. How would a Wii version play? on RedOctane Speaks Out on Guitar Hero's Future · · Score: 1

Would you still get a guitar controller for the Wii version, or would you use the Wii Remote?

Assuming the former, I guess you'd strum with the remote and press C, Z, A, B, and a directional arrow for note buttons. But that doesn't really feel like playing a guitar, which is the fun part about GH. The remote and nunchuk seem better suited to Drum Hero.

If a Wii version happens, I'm guessing a "guitar shell" would be released and the remote would snap into that. Put some Miis in there (I love those bastards), give me a leaderboard I can share with my friends, and I'm in.

Oh yeah, get the Advantage/Minibosses/NESkimos to record some exclusive tracks, too.

  16. It won't replace all your games. on Help for the Ultimate Multi-Console Gaming Setup? · · Score: 1

No way will Nintendo put all of the games in my collection on the Virtual Console, and if they do, I'm still not paying $5 a pop to re-buy them. A subscription service would be nice, but a better option would be a USB add-on where I could plug in my NES, SNES, N64, GB, and GBA games. I'd pay $60 for that, but I doubt I'll spend that much on games I already own. Downloading enhanced remakes or new original games over the VC is a different story though.

  18. Wii Numbers on PS3 and Wii — Head To Head · · Score: 2, Informative

He shouldn't have to assume. According to a video tour of the interface from IGN, rather than have a new code for each game the Wii will have an address book full of "Wii Numbers". If you have someone's Wii system number you can play games with them online, send them messages and Miis, and all that good stuff.

It would be easier to make an ISO by putting the PlayStation 2 DVD in your computer. HDLoader, I believe, makes a new partition on the HDD for each game and stores the files there. The quoted statement is more true for the Gamecube, and now I believe the Xbox360, where you need the console to play middleman and read the disc for you.

  24. Re:IGN's accuracy on No 3rd Party Online Support for Wii Until Next Year? · · Score: 1

People have already updated Wikipedia pages with this "fact", linking to the IGN page for reference. One section about expected launch titles already states that "None of the launch titles will have online play."

Personally, I can't see this happening. With their experience with the DS, Nintendo should be prepared for online games, and with their experience with third party developers (Vicarious Visions, Taito), Nintendo should be prepared to get third-party games online. Can they get away with split-screen CoD3? I thought we were beyond the days of GoldenEye.

That said, regardless, it will still be FUN, it just means that I have to clean up my dirty underwear when I invite friends over to play.
