I'd also like to recommend, America's Test Kitchen. They're a bit less technical than Good Eats in food science, but much more concerned about practicality and simplicity. I recall a recent episode of Good Eats where the guy's solution to not having an Indian tandoori oven was to actually make one by cutting the bottom of a clay pot and slowly putting coals in it for several hours. Not that there's anything wrong with fussy cooking, plus it's entertaining to watch, but practical? Not really.

It's somewhat different then what the article is talking about, but I am reminded of it. In that Facebook game you gets points which can be used to lower the price of a real item by 1 cent which one has the option of buying, of course. All players of the game can lower the item's cost and it can go down a fair amount in some cases (1 dollar for a 10 dollar gift card for example).

I don't really have a point with this, I just find the strange combination of advertising plus discounting amusing, and somewhat relevant to the equally strange combination of electronic rewards for laudable goals. Speaking of which, I wonder why the Pokéwalker hasn't been mentioned in the article. God knows that evil was all over PAX East and Prime.

Though I am aware there's no order for female circumcision, where in the Quran or possibly which Hadith(s) forbids the act? I believe there's a hadith where the prophet mentions it's preferable for a woman to be circumcised source.

It is indeed hard to measure the effect on pleasure. But I have found that if my foreskin is pulled back while I'm wearing cloths, moving around is uncomfortable due to the friction caused by the fabric. Circumcised men don't have this problem of course. I can only assume this callus, or decrease in nerve sensitivity would adversely affect sexual pleasure.

Also, there's plenty of other acts that could increase health. Shaving all your hair, removing the tonsil and nails, etc. I don't think a possibility of better health if one is sexually incautious, or slovenly is enough to justify unnecessary surgery.

Oh, I don't know about that. The proper way for a extremely religious couple to have sex is for the woman and man to cover up everything but the relevant parts, and for the man to finish quickly as possible which gives the woman little to no pleasure. There's no nudity the way we'd reckon it, and it most definitely lacks the intimacy and pleasure even basement dwelling virgins associate with sex.

Indeed. All this talk of infringing reminds me of my part time job in a day care. "I didn't steal those cookies (it was my hand that did it lol)!" "My feet's not one the desk (my shoes are lol)! Really now folks, if you truly believe in piracy, try to argue about how it's benign, or if you're really daring how it's a good thing. Once you succeed there, folks would automatically join you in calling the act copyright infringement. But bringing up semantics doesn't change how someone views your actions, but it does make them think you're being defensive and anal. To make an analogy, if someone were to indignantly say I didn't torture that person, I raped that person, would you go; oh I'm so glad he corrected my vernacular ? And yes, I'm well aware rape and piracy are worlds apart in severity, it is like I said an analogy.
