There is no logic in your argument. Saying that you taught yourself how to find music online or that a few of the millions of uneducated people were financialy succesful has nothing to do with the fact that education is your best defense against becoming nothing more than a consumer drone who will buy everything he is told to buy and think everything he is told to think (mainstream media).
Actually, your comment about uneducated people's success tells quite a bit about what your values are how in line they are with the mainstream corporate propaganda.
That abstraction, if it has been proven again and again that it needs government intervention to make it seem like it works (the opposite abstraction), is what is called a logical fallacy.
Nothing you say changes the fact that the invisible hand theory is hogwash. As a matter of fact, it has never been proven scientifically and is often considered by most economists as a belief similar to believing in God.
Since this will occur on Vista's launch day, I find it hard to imagine how someone can argue for the qualities of an OS they haven't used for any significant amount of time.
That's the point. After hitting level 70, a lot more casual players will be able to finish instances that only hardcore players had the patience and organization necessary to do.
Blocks of 10 cm are called decimetres. They might not get used for day to day mesurements but I'm sure more specific fields use them all the time. (I have a vague memory of using them in my early math classes. (I'm Canadian)
If you're decrying political interference in scientific research, you're making a political commentary about the interference. I fail to see the logic in your comment.
Yeah I'm perfectly satisfied with DVDs myself. The only thing that attracts me about those discs is to use them as a data storage format.
I'm not likely to see any significant quality increase on my standard TV with regular stereo sound, which I and most people I know don't feel enticed to change in the foreseable future.
You can be 100% sure that if the situation gets where people feel they have to use guns against a would be dictatorship in the US, they would be flagged as terrorists by the powers that be (since hey, this is a democracy right??) and those nasty terrorists would be used as an excuse to justify marcial law.
If it weren't for those educated liberals none of those things those would exist and the rest of you red necks would still be beligerant imperialist. Then again without those liberals keeping you trigger happy military folks in check, a world nuclear war would probably have happened by now and the human race would be back to the stone age.
IMO what made Mario a platformer to begin with was that it shipped with every NES so it was a common reference of all NES owners. The console companies have killed platformers because they realized that a lot of kids could play the same game for months after buying the console and they were not buying anything else.
A game that charges 900 gold for an elite mount gives you 2 choices if you want one: you grind for weeks (nvm how long it takes you... it's very long) or you buy the gold to get it. Whether you really need an elite mount or not is irrelevant. I don't have one and I get along fine but if I'd want one real bad, I'd seriously consider buying gold.
My point being that if blizzard doesn't want gold farmers, they just have to remove the reason anyone would want to buy gold in the first place.
You forget that most people don't follow the latest tech gossip and are not fanboys who root for their favorite console company. Most people who buy consoles are regular consumers. You can expect a lot of satisfied PS2 costumers to base their console purchassing decisions on past experiences (PS2), word of mouth, hype about games and maketing. Most people are oblivious to Sony's [presumed] arrogance and don't give a damn about such things.
Internet technology is mature enough in countries where broadband, multi-megabites per second is ubiquitous. Just not in North America :(
Thanks god you're not a lawyer.

"a full blown de jure standard" What the hell does "de jure" mean?

If that's the case, our world's future is pretty bleak... oh wait..
The answer to all your questions is this: Survival.
Wow thanks a lot for the information.

The 4 CDs contain a lot of content which was not distributed in any patches. All the patches since 2.0.x sum up to approximately 600 Mb.

How ironical that your post is made up entirely of assumptions.

Not to mention that the code for LiveJournal is licensed under the GPL.
