I agree with you to an extent. Hacking, in the general sense of unauthorized access, however, is not hard. NOT getting caught is what is difficult. I imagine that not getting caught is going to become increasingly harder as 180solutions is getting a lot of flack in the media lately. This kid is not very glamorous or 'hardcore' - he is a high school dropout who lives with his parents and stays in his room all day watching his bots.
On a side note, if these botmasters were clever they wouldn't actually install spyware on their victims PC's per se. They could install a "spyware emulator" that reports back to spyware company X as if a user is seeing their ads, but is really not. Out of sight out of mind - why would a user remove software if he did not know it was there? Thus, the user is happy and the botmaster is happy. The only one not happy would be 180solutions - but who cares about them anyways?:)
What is the minimum amount of money, or the minimum prize, that you would have to receive in order to use a search engine that may return suboptimal results?
There are some good prizes. "Home office makeover - $500 of Ikea home office furniture, PC worth 2K, $500 of MS Software." Well except for the $500 MS software, but hey that is what the trash can is for:)
>>But even in a society full of PhDs, some people have to do the menial jobs. Education explosion only leads to grade inflation, IMHO.
Imagine if all the people working at Wal-Mart had PhD's in computer science and electrical engineering. Do you think that "education explosion" would only lead to "grade inflation?"
Why? Not because he's 11 years old and hasn't hit puberty, but because the bastard is calling me a cocksucking nigger jew.
Oh Wow...I had a good laugh at that one. Kids are getting so creative nowadays. Another reason why I didn't buy an Xbox 360. That, along with the cost of giving your left kidney or standing outside Walmart for 7 hours in the cold doesn't seem worth it to play with some preteen wanksters.
I don't think there was any anti-sem intended in the "new york bankers" comment especially since one of the founders of Google, Sergey Brin is a Jewish-American entrepreneur. Its a little hard to be anti-jewish when you're part jewish yourself. Nice troll.
You have to be a clever guy to know assembly inside-and-out for a specific architecture and not even be in the college of science or engineering. As far as I know, Billy was an accounting major. Most of the people with business majors I've run into know very little about computers other than how to get around in Powerpoint and Word. Hell, most of the comp-sci guys don't even know assembly very well.
>>And yet they think we should listen to each of their arguments. How about this, we break the 50 US states into countries and then start collectively bitching at them.
Aside from Andy Rooney looking and acting a little crazy, you can tell he is very intelligent. I agree with him that the US is spending too much on military by about $400 billion, however, its not like we are buying our military from another country. All the money gets "recycled" in the US economy with income tax, property tax, sales tax, etc. I doubt we even buy high tech weapons from other countries at all.
Now, what we plan on doing with those 8,000 stockpiled tanks is a good question. I'm not even sure that many would fit in Iraq.
Can I sue slashdot for slander?
Good thinking. From now on we will refer to it as the 'engrish web.'
Are the two really mutually exclusive now? Me thinks not...

All that to hide your school girl collection? I'm impressed.
The phrase "Do No Evil" does not apply to goats and/or other farm animals.
Read the fine print my friend.
be very wary of C++ constructs that might result in a whole load of code being fired off behind your back...
Did anyone else read this and think to themselves this guy is using WAY TOO MUCH FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE for c++?
Don't worry, it says its not a virus. Continue opening up your hot teen sluts attachments that are .exe's, .pif's, .scr's, or .bat files like usual.

We would probably see lots of sweet robots.
That would be World War .5 beta
Next time use wikipedia, or else you will make a fool of yourself.

The question of living in Canada vs USA depends a lot on your skill set...
blah blah. The REAL question on everybody's mind is what are the girls like?
The best way for corporations to maximize their profits is not to outsource to rural America or urban India, but rather OUTSOURCE TO RURAL INDIA!
You heard it here first, folks!
You my friend are a comical genius!
I believe you meant "Sisqo."

Interestingly, Bill Gates estimated I.Q. is about 20 points more than Adolf Hitler's.

OH jesus that made me laugh very loudly.
