    smp on i386 and amd64 is in-tree. smp for macppc is on a developers box, but hasn't made its way to the real tree. I do not know the status of any other architecture.

    how is this a troll? Java does not exist for OpenBSD/macppc. It does not because Sun will not grant redistribution.

    Java does not run on all platforms. It can't run on platforms that Sun does not approve, with appropriate licensing fees. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to have Java on my home computer, because Sun is being dicks about it.

    We're not asking Sun to do the porting, or anything, we're just asking them to let us distribute the JVM binaries. Or at least bootstrap it w/o having Java already installed.

    not exactly. yes, the server has to have a physical serial connector, but the installer has to support it. many of the linux distros that I have attempted, do not support serial console for install. so I went back to OpenBSD :)

    a display attached to the server, I agree. All installers should allow you to install via serial console.

    RBLs are Considered Harmful, for this exact reason. The admins of these lists can blacklist whoever they want, and they aren't accountable to anybody.

    Yes, I know I don't have to use them. I choose my ISP for a variaty of reasons, if they sell to spammers is NOT a consideration I check. I don't care what they do with their bandwidth.

    If you don't like it, you can block the /32's that send you spam. Any more, and you'll catch someone innocent. Which is way worse than receiving spam.

    NO thank you. I *don't* want Adaptec writing the driver for me. I barely trust them to get the hardware right, let alone the software for my favorite OS.

    OpenBSD is striving to open up all drivers, and refuses to allow binary modules. Currently, they are targeting Adaptec, trying to get the management interface opened up. We don't want them to write code for us, or to support it, we just want docs, so *we* can write the code, and support it.

    tried that too. that makes it slightly harder not to spend the money.

    although, to be fair, not all of it was spent on hookers and blow. I did use much of that money to pay off creditcard debt. and of course, the aforementioned hookers and blow. ;)

    There is absolutely no logic to this other than you cannot manage money.

    That's the point. No matter how hard I try, I can't put away money to pay my taxes. I know this, so I am able to save my ass. My W4 says S0, and I base my finances around that. Every Feburary 1, I get a nice fat check from the gubment. (I do my taxes as soon as I get my W2, since I always get a refund.)

    Yea, I know the feebs get my money with zero percent interest, but its a much better solution than wondering how to pay my tax bill in April.
