And don't get me started on the all of the exploits you left open. Sure, you provided each of us with our own anti-virus system, but if your project had been well thought out there would be no possibility of viruses and worms to begin with.
From the article "Professor Peter Piper, a professor of molecular biology and biotechnology, tested the impact of sodium benzoate on living yeast cells in his laboratory." and "It is also added to pickles and sauces."
We've always known about Peter Piper's obsession with pickled peppers. Perhaps he is just starting a smear campaign so we will no longer have to worry about how pecks of pickled peppers Peter Piper actually picked.
On a side note, it says that sodium benzoate is used to prevent fungal growth, and yet Dr. Piper is declaring that it news newsworthy to note that benzoate inhibits the growth of yeast (a fungus). In related news, it appears that antibiotics may also kill off bacteria living in your gut. Dear God...
I hate my samsung A670 for exactly this same reason. Why can't we disable the button, or at least the shutter sound? I assume that the sound is there so people can take pictures without anyone knowing, but it is soooooo annoying! I really hate this phone.
Recently, an organization with the goal of creating a discourse on changing election day has offered to pay people to do their dirty work.
http://www.getoutthewhy.com/weblog/
The will pay you $300 to ask a house representative why we vote on Tuesday, and $500 for a senate member or a governor. To get the reward, you must post a video of the transaction on youtube. Its a pretty cool idea.
What the researchers actually did was artificially inject a protein that when unfolding generated higher amounts of heat First of all, they didn't inject a protein, the genetically engineered the mouse to express a protein in the brain.
Lest we be fooled, lowering your body temperature as a warm-blooded person is impossible. Second of all, it is certainly possible to lower the temperature of a warm blooded animal, you just have to add some hydrogen sulfide.

Off topic.
I am looking for a video card to use with my machine, so that I can do video editing with Adobe Premiere/After Effects. Is there a difference between a graphics card for games and cards for video editing? This looks like a pretty good deal to me.
While folding at home aims to understand the mechanism by which a protein folds, the project is not very amenable to protein folding. The problem is that protein folding is a linear process, so it doesn't work very well. A similar approach, Rosetta@Home, led by the most respected protein folding group in the world, The David Baker Lab, uses an algorithm with is much more likely to yield useable results. Last year they used distributed computing to vastly outperform every other protein folding lab in the world. I highly suggest everyone use Rosetta@Home over Folding@Home http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
Proof-bread was intended to be ironic, with a slight reference to the simpsons episode "List the Babysitter", where Lisa tells Bart to "go to bed", but Bart can only hear "go to bread".
What command? Seriously, don't people proof-bread anything anymore?
But on a more serious note, I was thinking that these games would be available free of charge with the system, from an online database, bummer. I guess I would be willing to part with a few bucks to play some party classics, like techmo bowl, bomberman and dr. mario
It has only been in the last several years that scientists realized that gecko's use VDW forces to clime. It may seem obvious, but no one imagined that it would be possible to create enough VDW interactions to allow a large animal to stick to any surface. It works by simply increasing the surface contact to a ridiculous degree. What is amazing here is that this will work on any solid, clean surface. There are an extraordinary number of applications. Another huge benefit to this is that no energy is required to maintain adhesion.
The fact still remains that Sony's "comparison" laptop was playing a DVD+R for comparison, not the production DVD. From the pictures, it appears to be a single layer DVD, which indicates that comparison DVD was, in fact, a compressed DVD. This should raise some eyebrows, as one can tell the difference between a DVD compressed to a single layer and one which fits on a douoble layer DVD. The fact that Sony resorted to degrading the quality of the control DVD indicates that the quality difference between DVD and Blu-Ray isn't as great as they would like us to believe.
In related news, it has recently been discovered by hackers that one is able to play with a "nude skin" for Barbie doll, merely by removing her clothes. While Mattel claims that the nude Barbie is only viewable after alteration by the end user, the Consumer Product Safety Commission insists while hidden, the nude Barbie is contained in the product as shipped.
Interesting. Its seems that at 12:21 PM today an enormous amount of people started misspelling slashdot. I wonder why all of the sudden people forgot how to spell.
I sent them this: "Dear Nintendo,
How I love your gaming systems. The Nintendo Wii is one of the stupidest names that I have ever heard. Please go back and ask the marketing firm you hired for another option, and if they give you another one which sounds retarded, hire a new firm. The future of gaming depends on it."
Then they responded with this: "Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,
I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments regarding the name of our next home console. If you haven't yet had the opportunity, please go to the news section of our website (www.nintendo.com/newsmain) to learn our feelings about the name. Rest assured that your feedback will be forwarded to the appropriate department for further review.
To be clear, Writely is still in beta, and it's far from perfect.
From the online tour, "Let me tell you, Writley is AMAZING. It's easy to use, efficient (it auto-saves once in awhile, but you can't tell it's so smooth), and perfect.
While it is true that HIV "hides out" inside cells, in their DNA, if we have a drug which is effective against the virus this will not be a real problem, because every time that the virus escapes the cell it will be immediately destroyed.
I haven't read the article, nor am I at all informed as to the specifics of this case. However, they may be able to find a relative with the same mitochondrial DNA or the same Y-chromosome as Copernicus. Both of these pass unchanged from generation to generation.
A person only inherits mitochondrial DNA from his mother. Using this principle, if we know someone who has descended entirely maternally from a common female ancestor of both him and Copernicus, we can check to see if it is Copernicus.
The same thing goes for Y-chromosomes and men. This is done surprisingly frequently with historical figures. It was done with the Thomas Jefferson/Slave thing and also with Anastasia Romanov. There is a caveat, however. You cannot distinguish between relatives, so even if it tests positive, it could be Copernicus's brother or another relative in the same genetic umbrella.
Google maps and gmail work much faster. What other websites have you all noticed work much more quickly with chrome?

Good point. And furthermore, you should get that ID with a hard copy of your music, so you can download music if you break your hard copy.
Is there a place to trade files that you have made? reply if you wanna trade.

Within 20 years means less than 20 years. 18 years is less than 20 years.

I have no doubt. The brain, just like any biological system, gets "better" with use/reinforcement.
Funny, my liver seems to get worse every weekend.

some dumbass decided to print the entire mouse chromomome 22 sequence
Nice try. Mice only have 20 different chromosomes. Whose the dumbass now!
I kid. I kid.

But if it is changed to the SCAT act, President Bush won't support its public debate.

P.S. No more public scatology
