This is why I am launching our school's computer lab with Edubuntu. 1. Built in Terminal Server - works well with donated (read: ancient) equipment 2. Great educational programs and games 3. It just works 4. Licensing - what licensing? 5. Maintenance and Administration - very little compared to a similar MS environment.
Perhaps more people in educational circles will see the benefit of switching from this poor teacher's incident.
Poor employee morale and low pay create the a social petri dish for employee malaise and discontent. Customer service suffers. People stop shopping there. The company continues to lower prices and pay. A vicious cycle ensues. Soon they declare bankruptcy and blame on it everything except poor management decisions driven by short term bottom line numbers.
Credit scores, reports and identity are in trouble in the US. It is a large pink elephant in the living room, but no one with any influence wants to admit it. Your credit record can be inaccurate due to: 1. Credit Agency mistake 2. Creditor error 3. Criminal activity 4. Poor security measures by xyz company 5. ???
With each of these is these problems, the onus for repair is on the customer / victim. There is no standard or easy resolution.
If Linux probes your hardware (monitor) and selects the incorrect settings, could that not potentially harm your screen? I am not saying Windows is not capable or the same problem, but at least you are not trouble shooting an entire OS. How does the woman know that she has not messed up some keyboard setting on Ubuntu? I would not want to be the tech who must troubleshoot over the phone a system which has a different OS than that which is installed.
I love Linux, but you have to draw the line on troubleshooting somewhere.
Nowhere in the thread does it mention DRM. Where did the summary of the article come up with this assumption? I am not saying that I would be surprised if this were the case, but random accusations and misleading summaries...we can leave that to the National Enquirer... or Slashdot.
My 5 year old's driving skills have deteriorated precipitously since he started playing NFS at age 3. I expect him to be on par with everyone else on the road by age 17.
What about Lynx? Walmart needs to think about all of us on 3270 emulators surfing the net for music and movies by text alone. Isn't there the "Americans with Command Line" act which prevents this type of discrimination. I also can't access it from the networked file system of my Atari 2600.

The amounts of money mentioned seem rather low for a space port, they seem more in line with a cruise line port or fancy bus station.
You trust an end user to tell you that a key is not working because it is sticking? You just let them troubleshoot it for you.

My Linux box runs for at least a year without activation also.
Outside of the United States (at least according to the maps.)
That's why I only surf by IP addresses. I recently bought the rights to 127.0.0.1, lots of hits on that one.
They should sue for a Googolplex!
Gator apologized for advertising Windows Vista. "Obviously this sort of malware slipped through our screening process, " they quipped.
...Hayden other recordings. I say, Bach to the source to find out what is going on! I won't be Chopin at I-Tunes anymore.
The R-I-Eh-Eh, they're hosers, eh.

Maybe he thought he could get revenge by Slashdotting their website with the link in his post.
Is that a remote exploit?

Ironically, the above statement is at the top of the page.
