Standardizing cables is a great idea. Now I can plug my 8-track or phonograph into my computer without finding the right adapter or cable. Someone will certainly complain about too much gov't invasiveness, but anything to get rid of those piles of wires I have hanging around with no known device to power or connect. It's nirvana!
1. It's still Windows
2. It's not *NIX
3. Certain root kits and viruses are not backward compatible
4. Script kiddies need more time to examine Vista and the Script Kiddie Development Kit (SKDK)is not ready from MSDN.
5. "Oops, we forgot that kernel thingy."
6. All of the above.
If Google can't find secondary sources of income and continues to ride on excitement and enthusiasm they will fall prey to the dot-com business model. Eventually someone will build a better mouse-trap (search engine).
Non-admins may get the euphemistic warning of possessing pilferred software,

Notice the MS solution, delete this, open up all permissions on that (good idea?), read, write, execute, delete for everyone! Or pay-up to get your copy of MS Winders to shut it up.
I would have to disagree from experience. SuSE provides a great desktop / server distro and once you understand YAST, it becomes your friend. (I am not putting down apt or yum, but YAST is a great tool.) SuSE has been very stable and easy. I find FC2-5 to be buggy and not resolving dependencies correctly. Rarely does this happen in SuSE. Driver support tends to be better with SuSE distros as well (especially wireless networking).
The bigger issue is Novell's marketing. They don't know where they are going with Linux. The start and stop and are not communicating a clear message to IT professionals or the public. I hope this shake up will cause them to focus their energies and become the software company they could be.
Lotus Notes was a great innovation. The kind of thinking outside the box and meeting the need would certainly help MS to focus. Right now "Up-Sell is the mother of invention" at MS. Ray Ozzie could get back to "Necessity" as the mother of invention.
On a lighter note, the only certifications I have are for Lotus Notes, does this mean the will transfer? Can I be an MCSE without the hassle of regurgitating facts on a test without understanding concepts?

Nothing like family (non-admins) and employees (non-admins) thinking they have purloined software. Isn't an unfounded accusation called, "Libel" http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Libel/?
(My SuSE never accuses me with false accusations.)
I don't think these sites would do as well if people realized the exposure and danger they risk by volunteering so much personal information on the internet. There is a great deal of education which should accompany this growth.
Is one of the patches for the Access lawsuit which requires you to patch office xp? To bad SCO doesn't sell indemnity insurance for Microsoft products, they're barking up the wrong tree with Linux.
Lynx is a very safe browser. Flash ads are rendered impotant. Animated GIFs are defeated on load. Active X; no way! Lynx is the browser of the future! Now let me get back to my 3270 terminal.

It will allow you the 2D maps but the 3D features are a fully installed local program which IE calls.
IE 6 hangs with the plug-in on exit. Can't really see the "3D" features compared to Google earth buildings.
It is not very responsive or quick to load compared to same environment with Google maps.
It only works with IE 6 or 7.

I may have to settle for heck.com.
Is this the best way to download firefox 2.0, with the fc6 distro?
>fdisk -thalamus
>shudown -h now
(reboot)
or else...
>No operating system found.
>Insert system disk and press any key to continue.

SCO & Linux? Linux & SCO? You got your Linux in my SCO? Two great tastes that don't taste good together. Sorry, but this news makes my brain hurt.
