Free falling from 15,000 feet is faster than landing in a plane from the same height. Doesn't mean you want to go ahead with it.
However, learning another language (i.e. morse code) does not usually result in death. Think of learning morse code like changing over to the metric system - after a few generations they get it. All that's needed is publicity and a public education campaign. Yes, I know that's going far, but you never know.
Wow, just like "Indie" fashion; corporate blogs make about as much sense as paying for faded jeans. What's next? 'Taggers' (graffiti form for those not in the know) getting registered as artists? This sort of thing makes me wish Communism actually works.
(From The Seattle Times) "It amounts to about $3,000 per hour for one lawyer, more than $2,000 an hour each for 34 other attorneys and $1,000 an hour for administrative work."
Yes, i know that's an old article, but it would more than likely be similar. When worked out as a 8hr day (9-5), i got $65,400 - not quite $5 million a day.
"Kroes and the 24 other commissioners would then decide whether to impose fines, which could amount to as much as 5 percent of the company's global daily sales, or $5 million, a day."
5% of global sales? They'd be fine then... not to mention the fact that that is the maximum fine. It's just like getting the maximum fine for graffiti on trains - you never get it.
Hey! I'm just basing this on local council policy where I live, it's probably different over there, but my point is that they can force them to take it down, not whether or not it is morally correct or anything.

There are many reasons that they can be forced to take it down. As it is shiny and metal, it could reflect into the eyes of pilots &c (long shot, but it is used). The residents of my city are forced to only use certain colour roofs, as we live in a primarily bushy area and it helps blend into the environment or something. The shields could also count as a 'structure' and have their removal ordered by the local government. Not to mention the fact that there is a "right to not be offended by an eyesore", if it causes a change in lifestyle or even minor discomfort, then it is required to be taken down.
In conclusion, I win.
It always seems strange to see a company that "packages and sells open source software", it makes it sound as though all it does is crawl the net for open source software, and then sell it as their own.
That very much depends on what distro you go with, though. Some of the other free (in both senses) distros provide excellent support for enterprise systems, and if you need tech support, ask people (y'know, those strange things that are like you?)
Does the majority even matter? Back in the good ol' days we used to believe that the world was flat, and that idea kinda failed. Who's to say that the same principle doesn't apply here?
They're fuckin' con men for pete's sake and lame conmen at that. The only people they're tricking is morons. I move for guys like this to be put down at every chance.
And they do it from behind a computer! Back in my day, conmen would enter your house to con you, but now it's all "Tech Support" this, and "Cummulative Upadte" that. I say we take it one step furthur, and socially engineer the social engineers, using real psychological tactics, and send them a report of the findings. Something along the lines of:
"Dear Script Kiddy,
Upon entering your mind, we found several caveats, including the following precursors to depression. As white-hat social engineers, we have forwarded you our findings, and the address of a psychologist.
Good day!"
... time synchronises with you!
Would be a nice little story if it had a little more variation from the others that this AC posted.

Now fighting cancer is easy as pi!
Really, what would you rather have, freedom or safety?
Freedom and safety.
The town near my aunt's cottage went totally wireless when some drunk driver knocked over the pole that connected them to everything else...
I think it's safe to assume that when wires get destroyed, a town is wireless. So what did they do for power? Get that wireless?
With that attitude, you could have a world ID card in no time! One step closer to a globalised government system. Yip-dee-doo
Imagine that - two integrated video chips running side-by-side with enough power to run the best of games.... would be nice, if possible.
"The Flower Previously Known as 'Extinct'"
Would be a much radder headline.
is that a gun in your pants?
What about spyware that asks permission before it installs, like Gator and all that. Is that sorta thing covered in this?
Oh shhh, it's late. Well, not really, but that's an extremely convenient excuse... not to mention i've been doing English work all afternoon.

I wouldn't do a thing like that... i simply make the stickers that others put up :P

Could this be related to the new anti-riot vehicles, that emit microwaves and cause symptoms similar to the ones described by the family?

Perhaps it contains proof that god doesn't exist, and the monk erased it because of that. Put yourself in the monk's shoes.
Look on the bright side - the spelling was alright.

That'd fix 'em.
