everyone seems to forget, that we as biological living beings, come from a mother of some sort.. god is far from a motherly figure.. its a bullshit super being created by "man" because a "man" was pissed that pagans worshipped "women" because of them being mothers, the creators of life..
I can only imagine what this will be like for the script kiddie bastards out there.. i mean, think of the shitty little programs that run in your current CMD.EXE that start cheesy little batch files and duplicate viruses x10000 all around your computer.. now, we have an extremely vunerable and exploitable operating system, with a command prompt that has endless scripting abilities.. this is going to be WONDERFUL for all of us tech guys out there that are just trying to help out their neighbors with spyware and virus problems..
the day Adobe releases CS and Audition for Linux, is the day I throw out my WindowsXP cd.. seriously though, i would GLADLY pay the $300+ dollars for Adobe's software if it was for linux.. however, i still don't like the fact that I gotta spend around $200 for the OS, and possibly thousands for the software that makes computing really worth it.. no wonder people buy macs..
i hope everything pulls through with this deal.. i remember reading an article a while back regarding Macromedia's possible development with Linux.. what happened to that whole mess?? did they back out already? if not, why the hell aren't they helping the FSG ??
it also makes me wonder why the make something so harmless, illegal.. i think its true purpose to be illegal, is to literally generate crime.. it gives us more a reason to arrest people cops and authoritive figures don't like.. anything you make illegal, will create a black market, and it will still get distributed.. except, now our tax dollars can be spent on the employment of people that fight in the war against drugs..
the popular science article printed in 1938 regarding the extreme energy related benefits of hemp and marijuana was unbelievable.. and its just so weird, how that soon after that article was published, and how the article stated henry ford's car was able to run off the hemp oil, the ban on marijuana took place.. just sounds a little fishy.. let people do what they want for christs sakes.. you can't honestly think we can allow things like pot to be illegal, yet drinking be illegal.. there's nothing you can justify against that simple fact.. there's obviously another reason behind it all.. its just a matter of figuring out the truth..
its pretty damn simple.. if you don't like it, make an image manipulation program yourself..
i can't fucking fathom why the hell people criticize those designers of FREE software.. are you fucking out of your mind?? you're fucking insane.. if you want it to be better, why not donate some fuckin money to the "son of a bitch" programmer??
of course it needs work, but you're definitely not HELPING by saying, "well, photoshop is STILL better.. blah blah blah I have a stick up my ass.."
do you have any idea of the huge programming team Adobe has?? do you have any idea on how much MONEY they can afford to pay some of the top programmers in the world?? you fucking twits.. god i hate you
"The desktop retails for US$849 and comes with a Pentium 4 processor; 512MB of advanced DDR computer memory; a 128MB ATI Radeon X300SE HyperMemory video card; an 80GB serial ATA hard drive and a one-year limited warranty."
i nearly died.. i too, have paid about $500 for an almost identical system.. oh, and also, it comes with a gig of fuckin ram, and a 200 gig SATA drive.. what the fuck is this Dell?? Just a couple months ago you were offering a PC for $300 with a monitor!!! and THAT came with a $100 operating system!! this is re-goddamn-tarded..
haha it'll always amaze me that they'll try to ban things like video games which are hardly influential to the youth, but they'll let a fat guy, who's now dead, sing a song saying "Let the bodies hit the floor"
i mean lets see.. a kid can easily say, "oh well that almost cartoonish character on my computer or video game console is hardly a role model.. but this guy on MTV, well, he's REAL.. I should be like HIM!".. i'll never understand the people that have too much damn time on their hands, and end up using it to fight for causes like this without thinking about it first.. they should spend that extra time on making sure they're not sounding like morons..
art is using your expressive abilities to create something original.. this only goes so far when it comes to hacking.. you're barely producing anything original..
i don't see how hacking could directly fall into either the art or science category, but its moreso a complete hybrid..
in essense, a hacker could use his expressive side to design a program to help him/her with their ambition.. then he or she simply executes that design scientifically..
i agree that its not a complete solution.. but it definitely takes a step in the right direction.. i don't see what else MIT students could do to help the poor..
these are cool as hell lookin.. plus the kinetic powering is damn sweet.. ya can't argue with people that are simply making it easier and more accessible for people to use computers and the internet.. hell i'll buy one for $200 from a third party.. kids are starving, but there are more people complaining about the problems in the world, and aren't doing a damn thing about it.. these MIT kids saw that there is obviously a problem with distributing computers and knowledge, so what better way to solve that problem, then by actually doing something about it..
hell, G.E. tried saving the starving children of the world by developing genetically engineered crops that can grow under tough environmental circumstances, yet people still complained and protested, calling it "playing god".. its just never good enough for some people..
now THOSE were cool.. i mean i like this and all, but i wouldn't dare pay more than $1000 for something I could break so easily.. its just not practical.. although it looks pretty damn cool.. seems like the libretto had much more support.. i could only imagine what it would be like today if they still developed them..
its great hearing about all this massive broadband shit when I can't even GET ANY KIND OF affordable broadband for the business i work for here in delaware.. before we boast about this amazing technology, how about we work distribution!?!?
think about it.. Ubuntu is perfect for those who need a good free OS.. it comes Internet-ready.. what else does the normal user need to do?? if you really wanna get your DVD burner to work, simply RTFM..
seriously though, think about it.. ubuntu, even though has it flaws for the linux novice, and might be a little hard to figure out, its STILL motivating people to be a little bit more "savvy" as far as their computer knowledge is concerned.. why must everyone insist on having their asses wiped for them?? this is the perfect opportunity to actually educate computer users about their system, and how an operating system works.. they are definitely going about it the right way as well.. promoting themselves as this "revolutionary" hero.. introducing free OS's to an extremely wide audience.. its very good for their PR.. i support them, and i see nothing but good coming from their distro..
oh man.. this is unbelievable.. at first I looked at it, and was like, "wtf, its a remote control"
but then i read on about the gyroscopic technology and moving the controller in mid-air to actually manipulate the games you play.. to me, this is going to rock.. i saw someone down below say, "uhh soon someone is going to be designing these things for PC probably logitech or something".. dood, gyroscopic mice have been out for almost 2 years!!! don't you remember the Gyration Mouse???
if you've ever used one of these things before, you should have no problem switching to the Revolution controller.. its going to revolutionize the game console.. such a wonderful technology to embrace. i can't wait to see the gyroscopic features in action..
aww anony coward.. most likely the person who modded me down.. i'm glad to hear of your recent career opportunity with the RIAA.. you sir, need to suck it twice as hard..
i'm glad i haven't bought a palm yet haha.. i'm definitely curious to see what they will be doing with the Be software they bought so long ago..
the hard thing will be to utilize the power management of the Be-Like OS.. I don't know how well the Be kernel handles things like that.. the battery power could last a long time, or it could last a short time.. Remember the Zaurus?? you can get a good 30 minutes of battery power if you use the back-light along with a compact flash wifi card.. hardly worth it in my opinion..
basically, i'm sure Palm went through quite a bit of development with their operating system just to get a good power scheme going on.. after all, the OS was designed specifically for handheld devices.. Linux is great because of how universal it is, but wether or not it can handle power well, is another question completely.. I simply compare BeOS with Linux simply because there hasn't been much power development as of current.. so hopefully we'll see some innovations made to the BePalmOS.. hell, they might not even go that route.. the Be software could of been thrown away months ago for all we know..
check out the handbook.. here's the LINK
"make"ing the "world" a better place
anybody have a different link to the new logo?? i can't see it because the site was Slashdotted.. hahah he said mutated dog penis..
