The article seems well...interesting...to people who care....
I guess I don't find it interesting...
It's just that....I was expecting to hear a cool detective story about how everyone whips out massive Windows (r) Smartphones...and then the thief gets away by the skin of his BSOD
This is offtopic...but its Yahoo, who cares?
The gun looks very cartoonish....but hey I'll give it a go. They have a ebuild under Gentoo....Got to love the penguin.
within the next 10 years or so) we won't have to pay the exhorborant fees we are currently paying to these wireless carriers
Fees don't go away, we just pay someone else. The wireless carriers charge us, becuase the government charges them. Well....yes..you will get rid of the BS fees, but they will just come up with another way to screw you over.
IM is really something that is held onto by MSN and AIM. I have used AIM for a long time, there is better out there, but getting all my computer illerate people to follow simple download directions, and getting all there friends to do it, is hard. I tried getting people into Gizmo www.gizmoproject.com. They thought it was cool, but getting people to talk on there computer is hard. They don't mind typing, but talking is a whole new thing. It's loud, and obtrustive. I would definately stay loyal to google, if they released a open SOURCE IM client, that was not bubbly like skype's interface. I liek gaims interface....Integrate "Gtalk" with gaim and I'll be a happy camper
What about all the space debris that will rip the hell out of the sail?
I don't think that the sail will last anymore than someone throwing a paper airplane in the air and have a firing squad shoot at it until their is no more. Lets see that plane fly for 4 years
Isn't the reason for Anti-virus is becuase the OS has security holes in it? Windows is an OS. It has holes. You pay $180 for a OS then on top of that $40 for a AV. Have the general public accepted this consumer BS that you MUST have a OS, AV, FW all to protect the original OS. When you pay $180, you'd expect your getting what you paid for,
The reason Linux doesn't have viruses is becuase when one comes out, so does a patch. A "anti-virus" But instead of a scanner or such, it's built into the OS, and prevents the problem at the source, not at a "security" layer.
Microsoft needs to not worry about a AV Program, and start worrying about their OS holes. Would you pay a monthly suscription so that instead of another program to suck up CPU, Microsoft gets off their lazy asses and fixes the damn security holes. Why do we say "McAfee and Norton have updated their defintion", when it should be Microsoft saying "We have released a patch stopping this viruses actions"?
I think they made a spelling mistake. It is "Palos Verdes High School". That's cool that they made the news. This is just their second year as a new high school and they seem to being doing great. I wonder why my school hasn't gotten into this...oh well we kicked their ass in football.
The Government is built on a governmental build of Windows...Hum.....www.google.com ->Search windows flaws....On the other hand...North Korea, "communist" and anti-capitalist, can't think about contributing to those capitalist pigs. Linux it is!
Screw Star Trek. Star Trek is a dieing franchise. Battlestar Galatica is new age. Get with the program:-)
On a side-note I would actually enjoy a Star Trek movie, with the many aspects of BsG. I liked how the technology was realistic, and they really developed the characters past their potential. This was all done in a season (and coming 2), not in a 2.5 time span to introduce characters, make them do defend their morals and fight for whats GOOD, and then finally end in a dramatic and exceptional way.

Why do so few people play Cube [fov120.com]? Is it the lack of debs/rpms? Becuase it looks like Roger Rabbit meets Doom?
www.gizmoproject.com
A open STANDARD service that is currently in beta, and runs off of the open standard of SIP.
Maybe I'll use this book in Writ 1E in college. A special writing class desgined for illeterate engineers like me :-)

Aren't we so glad Microsoft is getting into the Anti-Virus Business.....oh wait...don't they make the OS?
What happened to fixing the OS, so an AV isn't needed?
Why do I even bother?
