    The NVidia BIOS claims a max resolution of 1280x1024. The proprietary driver ignores this, giving me 1600x1200. The free driver absolutely refuses to violate the BIOS-suggested limit, giving me 1280x960 instead of 1600x1200.
    I ran into a reverse situation with my 19-inch CRT and Kororaa, when I installed it last weekend. It auto-detected my monitor and I'm running at 1856x1392 instead of its "maximum" 1600x1200.

    just remove the evil binary-only drivers and all is well.
    Except XGL is Kororaa's main feature (in fact, the only reason for the LiveCD), and that won't run without those drivers. If they take the drivers out they might as well just not do it.

    Speaking of that, is there anybody that has a copy? I've got an account but since I don't have a disc to install it I can't play at all. And every place I've found that claims to have it for download is lying.

    The ISPs are welcome to raise their prices if they feel like it. But if they do, they will have to face the reality of competition on a free market.
    Free market. Right. The only broadband provider in my area is Comcast. Some of my friends don't have broadband providers in thier area at all.

    Not sure how or why but maybe it had something to do with record highs really early in the year (100+).
    That is what caused it. Power equipment was scheduled for maintainence during this usually cool time of year, but because of the high temperatures more people were using their electric ACs and with some of the equipment down the grid couldn't handle it.
