The NVidia BIOS claims a max resolution of 1280x1024. The proprietary driver ignores this, giving me 1600x1200. The free driver absolutely refuses to violate the BIOS-suggested limit, giving me 1280x960 instead of 1600x1200.
I ran into a reverse situation with my 19-inch CRT and Kororaa, when I installed it last weekend. It auto-detected my monitor and I'm running at 1856x1392 instead of its "maximum" 1600x1200.
just remove the evil binary-only drivers and all is well.
Except XGL is Kororaa's main feature (in fact, the only reason for the LiveCD), and that won't run without those drivers. If they take the drivers out they might as well just not do it.
One of the most frightening things I learn having conversations with people is their willingness to believe complete and utter bullshit.
One time a girl asked a friend of mine if guys breathed through thier penis while they slept. She was completely serious. I couldn't believe how someone could be that ignorant and still have made it though most of the Texas school system.
If you've got a good boss, talk to him about it. If your boss is a fruit, explain to him how other people who aren't as mentally capable as him might have problems with the system. In both cases, gain the support of your coworkers.

Last time I checked out Planeshift, all you could do was run around the main city (pretty much a ghost town) and jump around in a cave. What's new?
Speaking of that, is there anybody that has a copy? I've got an account but since I don't have a disc to install it I can't play at all. And every place I've found that claims to have it for download is lying.
Before Germany was reunited, East Germany was known as the "Deutsche Demokratische Republik". That's right - the one where you were shot on sight for attempting to escape the country. They were about as "Demokratische" as the Nazis, but that didn't keep them from pretending to pretend.
My favorite part of Digital Fortress was when the encryption key was cracked because it was "3" and the computer automatically ran the message as an executable instead of printing it out somewhere.
Not sure how or why but maybe it had something to do with record highs really early in the year (100+).
That is what caused it. Power equipment was scheduled for maintainence during this usually cool time of year, but because of the high temperatures more people were using their electric ACs and with some of the equipment down the grid couldn't handle it.
Not to have one's head nailed to things by a gang of thugs.
Well, when you transgress one of those unwritten laws, it's kind of hard to avoid that. They don't really want to nail your head to the floor but they have to. Maybe if you ask nicely they'll agree to just screwing your pelvis to a cake stand.
Wait a moment...

That is incorrect.

Jack Thompson makes me laugh.

But then you'd really be running BSD, wouldn't you? :)
Just kidding. I know people have talked about it and done it, but I don't think there's any actual "BSD/Linux" distro.
When I play Animal Crossing, all I do is hit the animals with my ax.
Best thing I've read all week. Somebody get some mod points over here!
Wtf is 7337? Teet?
Yeah, I haven't seen a good pirate game in a while. Or a ninja game for that matter.
