Me I agree with you. I got my PSP to play games on and I don't have a problem paying money to buy those games. If DRM gets to the point where it truly restricts my or anyone else's ability to use the products I purchase as intended, then I will simply stop buying them. Simple as that.

In the spring when they introduced the "Cold War Edition" of EVE, they completely re-did the tutorial and made it much better than it was, it's got full speech and everything.

As for modules, yes there are tons, which is one of the great things about the game. As for knowing which are better than the other it goes tech1 -> named items -> tech 2 - uber rare ultraviolent officer/commander loot. And each of the 4 races has a particular weapon type that they get bonuses for.

The game is only slow if you are trying to play it like a typical MMO, if you can get past that then it really doesn't seem all that slow when it comes to advancement.

As for being able to compete with 2-year old players, it is not impossible and doesn't take years to do, but you have to specialize in a particular line of ships/skills in order to become effective in a short time. Us oldtimers have the advantage of variety of ships we can fly more than anything. But flying the biggest ship doesn't necessarily mean instant victory anyways, and all ship classes have thier uses.

One more thing, this past sunday EVE passed 16,000 concurrent users online at one time, and it seems to be going up about 1,000 every couple of weeks or so. They figure they will pass 20,000 by the end of the year. There's something to be said where everyone in the game is on the same shard and 95% of the goods on the market are player-made. It makes for a tight-knit community.

Yeah I'll second that, the devs of EVE-Online are by far the most open and active out of any MMORPG I've ever played. They have regular blogs and actually respond to the comments on the blog and they are extremely active on the forums as well.

Plus they have a great sense of humour to boot.

Blizzard's dev's on the other hand are never seen on the boards, and their community managers are a joke.

pretty sad, even SOE's devs are more active on the EQ boards and we know what Sony thinks of players.

Says who? The only footage we've seen of PS3 has been video taped or CG. The killzone demo was a video of a scene rendered at 5fps and then sped up to 60 fps to not make it look like ass. The graphics capabilities of the PS3 and the 360 will be roughly the same. The only advantage that the ps3 is going to have right out of the box is the blu-ray drive, which in my opinion is less important than having a hard-drive to begin with.
