Is how I like to describe it - Yes, it is a great game, though for me, the camera was a too cumbersome - when playing the demo at E3, I had the same gripe and one of the developers assured that it would be 'fixed' for the release - It was cleaned up a bit, but not fixed - regardless of my minor issues with the game, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the game, however the original ICO has a higher place in my heart -
This product looks promising IMHO
Integration into local.google.com has me somewhat excited - killer app?
Revenue generated on a service charge basis? or free use with targeted advertising?
my Zen Micro (5GB) as well as an external (duh) 80GB USB Western Digital USB drive when needed - between the two I have not had any problems tranferring data - for the most part I've been using my micro, creating a 2.5 GB partition for data and the remainder for my music
has a great write up by Soren explaining the extensibility of the engine with the Mod community in mind - I would explain more but my boss just peeked his head into my office asking when the new build would be ready...buh bye
Illogical - why would they want to remaster something if it does not produce additional revenue? Tracking that you have bought a previous version of the recording would also create another layer of complexity...
Methinks you just wanted to use the phrase 'paradigm shift'? Do you work in the marketing department?;)
j/k
last line of communication over relatively large distances will be threatened...
on the flipside, if everything does hit the shits, due to some type of disaster, all the powerlines down etc., the frequencies will be back online/usable...right?
(by met, i shook his hand and introduced myself)
at a talk he gave at SJSU several years ago - brilliant mind IMO and very nice fellow as well, took time to talk with everyone who wanted to meet him...
but as mentioned in other posts, the emergence of bots curbed his enthusiasm...
now he just goes to tahoe/reno to lose his money and i ocassionaly join him so that I can win money playing craps
I have a zen micro 5gb and have had to send it in twice for repair due to the infamous headphone jack problem.(same problem occurred twice...)
(check their message boards, major issues with minor and major defects)
Rapid Development: Taming Wild Software Schedules. Redmond, Wa.: Microsoft Press, 1996. 660 pages.
Regardless of preconcieved ideas regarding a book from MS Press, this is one of the best books I have read and has helped me/us ship our titles on schedule
and while going to school, I worked for a software developer (PC/Console Videogames)
What really really surprised me back then was how much I was NOT taught in college - The coursework was irrelevant in the context of real world work - several of the professors seemed to have bitter attitudes (considering it was during the dot-com boom era, they were bitter that they werent making millions like some of their colleagues)
Anyhoo - my CS degree did me good in the sense that I have a degree that says I graduated - not in the sense that I got a practical degree which I can apply in the real world - I learned my tricks of the trade from coworkers who tutored/mentored me, and to them I owe my education, not the instituion which gobbled up a lot of mine and my families money...
but when are they going to add sufficient ammounts of memory? The scratchpad on the PS2 was a f***ing nightmare as was memory addressing/fetching etc. - in general was very tricky - more emphasis needs to be placed on resolving memory issues - not CPU speeds
CPU speeds do not matter very much these days...its just a way for Sony/MS/Nintendo to blow smoke up people's asses in order to revive the new life-cycle of new console...(though admitedly, Nintendo does this far less than the other two)
--
allowing it to be relatively 'open' in the sense that people will be able to create content/emulators for it - a buddy of mine that works at thier Hillsdale HQ told me that this is SONY's strategy, knowing that MS will never really 'open' thier consoles to customized apps makes their hardware more desireable
('open' is used loosely here)
PSYCHE!
anyhoo - having attended E3, several workshops AND having a 360 dev kit sitting in the next room, it is known that the final hardware specs were not yet set in stone (same goes for PS3 and the common knowledge among the dev community that the GPU is NOT complete)
that being said, OF COURSE THE FUCKING SUITS AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT ARE GOING TO BLOW AS MUCH SMOKE UP THE MEDIA'S ASS AS POSSIBLE...
why is this even news?
can someone please answer that one for me?

using infallible logic I lean towards believing 1.3 billion people vs. 23 million people that Taiwan is province of China
