    People who go to prison under such laws are not sentenced to life in prison for the possession of pot. They are in prison becasue they are habitual criminals and have been convicted of THREE felonies. Is possession of pot even a felony in California? And an article from some wild-eyed socialist website with a post from 1999 about a movie by Michael Moore is hardly going to help your argument.

    Well of course it is reported rapes it is damn hard to count the others. The parent poster pretty much said if you go to prison you are raped. I happen to be able to, in about 1 minute, find a study that disputed that pretty strongly.

    Even for mild offences like check kiting, or smoking dope. Whatever your sentence is you have to add being raped several times a week to it.
    That's what passes for law and order here. Being raped for all crimes no matter how minor.


    Prison rape isn't as prevalent as you might think. http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/svrca04.htm Though I wouldn't want to be in the .3% that it does happen to. For that matter I don't want to be in the other 99.7% either.

    Amen Brother! I grew up a Reagan Republican. I want the government to protect me from bad guys outside of the country and allow me to protect myself from bad guys inside the country. I would vote for anybody with an elephant on their campaign poster.

    I have changed though. Now I want either Congress or the White House to be Far Right and the other to be Far Left. That way we will have NO new laws. None Zero Zilch.

    Let the Supreme Court step in if the fighting between the two gets to the point that guns are going to be drawn..

    And any politician that comes along and calls himself a moderate in either party should be shot on sight.

    I have absolutely no problem at all with 100% public surveillance, as long as all of the video feeds are available to any person at any time, and not just Big Brother.

    So if the US Border Patrol were to suggest as an enforcement process the setting up of cameras along the border and surveil them with USBP agents you WOULD have a problem with it?
    When did a country protecting its own borders from those that would cross them illegally become a "Big Brother" issue? You do realize that it is against the law for anyone, including US citizens, to leave or enter the country at any place other than an official border crossing point?

    Oh I'm sorry you're talking about good books. I on the other hand was talking about popular books. Though I have little doubt that even the writers of those started out because they had something to say but after getting that first one out they really just want the money. I didn't say there would be no books just fewer.
