You can pay a fee to move a character (depending on server; I know you can't move a PVE character to a PVP server) to another server. I think the fee is like $12 USD or so.
Here in New Mexico they do make you rent the interlock, from what I understand. I guess there's a monthly fee for reading the info off of it as well. But no one is forced to buy it. If they don't want to, then they don't have to drive.
Safari does have tabs. You just might nowt have them turned on. Under the Preferences menu, click on the "Tabs" tab, and then click "Enable tabbed browsing"

There was no 1.2 firmware. It jumped from 1.1.4 to 2.0.
Well you do have to pay Apple and buy an iPhone/iPod Touch to even develop an application, so they are getting some money out of it.
It does run on PS2, PC, and Xbox 360 though.
