Once a design is approved for manufacture and at the volumes they order, a cable box would cost them pennies. Then someone has to write (re-write) the firmware, and someone has to take that thru any updates (hah!). But the volume still swamps all the other costs.
I just love people who expect responsibility and good-faith from a mega-corporation that thinks putting up suicide nets is a good response to non-existent worker morale. Hey... I might just have a bridge I can sell you...
Excuse me, that is what they SAY they want it to do. The technology to make that happen is complete vaporware. If we wish to compare real-world, acheivable speeds with those that someone at NASA says they want to get to, why not just bring in FTL and beam up? The original import of my post is that under any technology that we currently see as attainable, it will not be practical to attempt going there.
Great. At the speed of our currently fastest vehicle (Parker Solar Probe is supposed to get close to 700,000 km/h as it falls into the solar well), it would only take 25,000 years to get there. Don't miss out! Book now!
Who wouldve thought the company that gives approval rights for their designs to the Chinese government would lie to us? But for sure there's no possibilty of any backdoors. Trust us!
I had an HP-65 early on; loved programming it but the power was flaky. Then I got an HP-25 and it was glued to my side for years. Do androids count with RPN? Yes, yes they do.
The Grand Minds hsve long made the lion's share while crumbs go to the people who actually do the work. It is not exclusive to nor invented by Silicon Valley. Who knows the names of the team that put together the first Mazda? But we all know the name Edison.
Echoing across our solar system (and beyond) are reverberations of every BBT episode... never to die, just to fade and fade into the background noise. Shows like BBT will never go away, they just fade into syndication. The A-Team is still being broadcast by DirecTV! I wish I could find the old Gumbys.
Right, 65 years old and I have never once had a chance to work with a government agency, is that your contention? Sure.
You obviously never make assumptions about others nor overstate anything, huh?
people begin to not believe in hugely hyped vaporware currency. what a surprise... not.
But the facts are no good for Luckey's ability to make himself out to be a victim. Yet another poor little rich kid. Wah.
I believe and "Womp Womp" is in order?

"I meant it to do that!"
... but no pizza. That could be a deal breaker.

I am fulfilling my intended role in the universe! Whoo hoo!
Good for Linus. Change at this point is always remarkable. On that... I have always wondered if Linus would pass a Turing Test?
A witch! A witch!
Is the phrase "Do no harm" on the blacklist?

I do, but preferred my log-log slipstick

Sounds like Kalanick found a new place to work... for a while.

I started with FC3. Still running Fedora at home. Amazing.
But we'd NEVER put a backdoor in our phones. No no no. So just trust us because we are so above board and truthful.
no possessions. I wonder if you can.
the Balkans, where FF spins can enjoy the company of incompatible Linux distros
now I really DO feel old. 25? Oy!
