Wow, IT warned a student for porn? I'm not into porn (I've actually never seen any unless you count popups and the banners on warez sites), but I always assumed that since students LIVE in their dorms, that they could use their internet connections for pretty much whatever they wanted. After all, porn's not illegal, and I guess that it's a way for some people to fap fap relax... how the hell can the IT staff warn students (unless it's stated in the rules that porn isn't allowed...which it obviously isn't, if the Provost responded that way). Is this common?
Well, they're changing the site around, but this site has one of the comics up.
I can see them taxing the monthly fees...something players actually PAY for, but taxing in-game assets? Not many people I know would be willing to do that. Also, how would they determine what something is worth? It'll never pass.
Kudos to Hexus.net for actually telling us about this. I will no longer hold Alienware in the same esteem that I used to. I wonder what other companies do this?
Really? FF2 seems to be the fastest yet (on all of my machines, one of which is uber, and some of which are old as dirt). This may be different on the Linux version, though...
Yes, I do.
Better listen up; this is coming from Symantec, the guys that brought us Norton Internet Security. These guys KNOW how to really mess computers up.
"Open source" doesn't always mean "free". Open source software is simply software that developers have made the source code viewable for.
Please don't make fun. That's my meal plan for this semester.
Now, if you'll all excuse me, someone just "squirted" me an email.

Are you the guy that "invented" Freedom Fries?
No worries! Nobody on slashdot actually RTFA's!
I'm not saying they got what they deserved, but the bulk of the punishment was definately in the restrictions.
I don't see how he changed anything.

Honey Buns are good for breakfast on the go (I have 8 O'clock classes, so no time for a real breakfast at the cafe).
HD-DVD has won.
Yes.
Sadly enough (and I'm not kidding), I have the same damn problem with my family and their dishwasher.
From what I read, it was a Christian group that had it pulled, wasn't it?
OO's point is to COMPETE with MS, not outright copy them. I think the lack of the menu ribbon will actually persuade some people to stick with OO.

Nope, this article is about the XBOX360 version. There is still no good reason to get Vista ;)
You made my professor aware that I was surfing the internet, you bastard!
Electrical engineering, actually.
Diablo II is a great deal of fun over TCPIP with a roommate.
Mario Part is the bomb.
Punching to the stomach is more effective than unplugging the controller.
Everyone should have a favorite fighter game (DBZ: Budokai 3, for me and my friends....none of whom can even stand Dragonball).
Halo 2, why not very fun (for me) in single player, actually has a rocking multiplayer mode.
Playing against other people on the room IS better than playing online.
You must, however, remember that Microsoft sales the consoles at a loss.
The answer is simple: they don't know how to spell it, but used Firefox's new integrated spell check. Duh.
