They don't put it there. You do. They just packaged it for you. If you didn't want to give them permission to run arbitrary executables on your computer, then WHY DID YOU RUN THEIR EXECUTABLE??
I used to get RSI. I was at a computer non-stop at work. Non-stop at home. The solution? I got a girlfriend and cut my computing time in half. My wrists couldn't feel better.
Then they can't really compare it to other systems, and that "$500" is meaningless. You need an OS for a computer. Are they assuming that we're all pirates?
I think bipedal robots would be a lot more versatile - how do you jump over a large obstacle just with treads? Maybe a hybrid would be best, where the robot could kneel into your most familiar position and have treads from the knees to the feet.
The only thing the US should be doing to reduce piracy abroad is -possibly- sanctioning them - but since the US would be dead in the water in several ways (DEBT!) without China, they can't even do that.
total sales? I would hope not by the 5% indicated by the stock prices. Personally, when I can't get something at a cryptofascist store I walk over to another one or preferably order a game online (often for $15 to $20 less, at a reputable site).
In Windows you don't NEED source. Either your InstallShield package, or your zipped program, will work fine in almost any version of Windows - that is, 1 package for 90% of the computer using population, versus what, 20 packages for 3%?.
This isn't the fault of any particular developer, but a problem with the general state of GNU/Linux.
I can use the 16,000 some Debian packages quite easily and happily, but when I want to add software that they didn't package, I have to fight with dependencies myself and really make a whole mess of my system (thank G-d for checkinstall / installwatch). It ends up taking at least an hour to set up most pieces of software that isn't prepackaged.
Fine, it was a poor example, but nobody is protesting against not being able to hold up a fucking sign in the air. They aren't doing anything relevant.
He wasn't just standing around with a sign like a pansy. He was breaking the law by "stealing" salt from the ocean, which would be akin these days to smashing a window out of protest.
Only cowards hold a distinction between a riot and a protest. If you're not physically asserting yourself, you're not doing anything significant - there's no point in your physical presence. Do you actually think holding a sign is going to change things?
I don't think this will be successful. People like to listen to music while they do other things. Video is immersive. You sit down and you watch it and you don't do anything else.
Furthermore, there's no way to play a video on an iPod without the hard drive running constantly, and that will burn out the hard drive in no time and use up the battery in half that.
Does that make much sense? I would probably put it in Tools or nest it in the Options panel.
I get all of my news from blogs, and I haven't looked at a single thing in print since Web 2.0 came out.

or "Administrator", rootkit designers don't even need to escalate privelages. I can't wait for Vista :|
That happens with real people, too =)
I know a Malay who learned English in Australia, and he talks like someone straight out of the 1800s.
In about a year.

If they put Linux on it, they can save around $100 extra that would otherwise be spent on Windows, to be put towards a better graphics card.
but rather, multi-logical. =)

Chinese currency does not rise or fall in value - it is fixed against the US dollar.

Worse than if the DNC list was never introduced, because now they have all of our numbers!

Yes, but only because you may act as a martyr or agitator, or maybe even a shield for someone who IS actually working for change.

Interesting, I suppose fans are ineffective when the ambient temperature is warmer than your body temperature. Yuck!

And if you're still too hot, drive faster
shouldn't even be legal. "After we fire you, your only recourse is begging for money!"
