  1. incredible on Steve Irwin Dead · · Score: 0

When I first read this on the interweb i thought it was a joke, i mean come on we have all joked about the guy being crazy and one day a croc would get em... Now that it has happened it is hard to do so anymore. Barb through the heart, that is brutal. RIP steve.

  2. Re:welcome to... on HD Should Be Wired, For Now · · Score: 0

hey man, i dont think it strange at all. I wish i was on gigabit. I wish my school was on gigabit. I wish instead of looking to achieve what people have had (100mbit) for nearly a decade, we try to move up. Computers and disk space and everything else has improved by leaps and bounds while networking is so relatively slow (even though it is increasingly important in the way computers are used). Hope that explains what i was going after a bit ;)

  3. welcome to... on HD Should Be Wired, For Now · · Score: 0

welcome to reality. wireless works for current trivial tasks, but it can't stalk up to wired- it incrementally tries to match it. Gigabit wired is what we should be using (as scaled in time and in bandwidth demand), not 10/100 thats been around forever.

  10. Re:Oooh.... core wars on Intel Stepping Up to Combat AMD's 4x4 · · Score: 0

I think this 4x4 approach is a niche area in itself, this isn't to replace or succeed the dual core x2 at all. I think it is simply a new product to keep those at the high end to stick with AMD. If you can afford it or wait for it, im sure it would be very nice for people who need the power. A particularly nice area would be in CG where these cores could contribute to rendering- imagine 3 dedicated to rendering while with the 4th you continue to work on your project or work on a separate one, all on one machine. We'll just have to see how useable it really is though.

Sequals are bad, EA is evil and the biggest issue, nobody wants to play ww2 games anymore, engines cost a small fortune, the only good way to make indy games now is via STEAM thanks to valve (eg: the ship, ragdoll kungfoo, dystopia, etc...), no engine developers think of opengl so no cross platform games anymore (from the getgo), short term thinking, episodes!, paying for patches (battlefield 2, again EA), releasing buggy as hell games (Oblivion) and then releasing pay to play items they never included in games. I miss 1998/1999: HL, UT, Q3, etc...

the graphics cards today are coming out on PCI express, not agp, so its not possible to really do this... Im still on an athlon xp 2500+ oc'd to 3200+ speed (fsb200) and a 9800pro. No reason to upgrade and I play games on it. I dont use 16xaf and 6xaa at 1600x1200... so I dont need to spend thousands on these ginormous video cards. Nothing is pushing the current (3 year old) hardware enough! And the only way for me to upgrade at this point is to shell out for all new parts (ram, mobo, cpu, video card) since nothing is the same. Thankfully the AMD versus INTEL is really back and the pricewars will begin. Muhahaha

  19. no titles yet on Ageia PhysX Tested · · Score: 2, Interesting

Ive been following them for a long time- their software demos blew my mind a few years ago (the one with the towers made of bricks that you could destroy oh so fun). We should wait for real games to make use of the physics. Ghost recon uses it as a gimmick. The tech demo game as listed in one of the articles is a real showing of what the card is capable of. When the game engines catch up and use it as an intrical part rather than a gimmick it will usher in a new era of gaming. It really will, look at what happened with hardware 3d.

lol. How can you not clearly see how in violation Apple computers is of the agreement? They release an ipod, clearly a music player, and then must have itunes to legitimize the product (remember rio got sued for selling just the mp3 player), so itunes is a way to legitimize it. At the same time, they are selling music. It isn't like 7-11 at all. You zealots need to get your heads out of your arses and think a little bit.
