    Happily using and supporting the games that THEY helped to make work but not acknowledging their contributions is the stabbing in the back that I refer to.

    I'm sick of these halfwitts sledging a real contributer to the gaming industry in Linux.
    These guys have a good history, yeah its not squeeky clean but so bloody what?!?
    They contributed to Loki's technology, Gavriel is on good Terms with Ryan (Icculus) and there are many other linux NATIVE technologies that owe their success in part to direct help from Transgaming.

    FFS, if you don't like them then DON'T BLOODY use their product, stop stabbing the poor bastards in the back. /rant over

    Only half right..
    Its not software that will clkosed and expensive.. and its not hardware that will be expensive..

    Its services..

    Everything will be "service" based..
    ISP's will merge (like they are already into the Cell phone, landline, Entertainment industry. Instead of signing up with 5 different companies for each "service" you will sign up with one... and they will supply everything).

    Then after another 10 years of that.. the "Cyber punk" or "Neuromancer" type corporations will start to "buy" people... you won't apply for jobs, you'll be born into them.
    mark my words.. this is how it will come to be.

    I used to work with a complete F-witt that tried to modify PC's to fit hardware into slots that would NEVER take it..

    ie, hacked the PCB of a 32bit PCI card to fit it in a server 64 bit slot 0.o

    or hacked the plastic nodual/seperator in the AGP slot to fit an AGP pro card into it...

    scary man that guy... kinda like "Wal footrot" ( http://www.oneil.com.au/footrot/ ) meets the BOfH

    The new firewall in XP is made by Ca from memory and Veritas made the crappy backup software in NT/2000....

    I'll add to it by saying that The education system doesn't work for all people.. and that some of us learn better and faster by DOING.

    Also.. you'll probably find that you pay attention ALL the time were as most other people go through life only using their eyes ears and brains when they have to... but using their mouth ALL THE TIME.

    lastly, remember that no matter how good you are or think you are... there is always, ALWAYS someone better than you out there and if you strive to BE that person then you'll never go to far wrong in life.

    I also have this issue.. and compound that with my car, a 180sx SR20DET (bright red and damned quick sports car). I hate leaving things in my car as I have no illusion as to how secure it is, and with all the gear I seem to cart around... keeping it all on me at all times just isn't going to happen.

    So I'm a target if I'm walking, driving or my car is alone... no wonder I'm a bit on the paranoid side :-P

    I agree with you 101% about the attatchment size thing.. e-mail was not designed for large file transfer..

    but large e-mail dbases.. that IS a good idea.. and one that fits with the idea of e-mail.

    nope.. I have two long haired chihuahua's and they can growl quite deeply if they want to.

    BTW, those of you that don't like cats/are alergic to cats and want a dog, Chihuahua's make excellent pets..
    They don't require stuff all food, they LOVE laps and at times behave very cat like (without the supirior attitude) they don't need a LOT of maint..

    If you train them right they're not yap dogs.. my two barely bark at all, and if they do, one quick word and they stop.
    Great pets :-)

    It was a killer game for a while
    It was free
    It was given away with a linux live CD and it was availible for free download for linux.

    It didn't work.

    Your wrong, linux needs lots of things.. and what we need from the gaming industry we're currenlty getting (we could do with more of it though).
    What we need is more companies to release their games with either in the box linux binarys or do like they did for UT, and release linux binaries afterwards..
    Most importantly we need Sierra to support linux.
    Sierra has some of the best selling titles, but they have ALWAYS turned their back on linux.
