    I'm pretty sure the reason for this is that the movie companies take such a large percentage of ticket revenue that the theaters have to find any way they can to make some money.

    I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Macrovision is a feature of the DVD. The player has the ability to decode it. For a while I had a TV-VCR combo, and was able to view some DVDs and not others.

    Try windows-tab sometime. Selects tasks on the taskbar, but doesn't switch to them. Combine with the menu button to easily close pr0n windows without revealing what's in them, all without using your mouse!

    I wish I had mod points for you, cause this is a damn good point. If in fact the hacker had access to 'live' code at any point, they could have planeted backdoors into the code, and this is something that could take them months to find.

    Don't forget about Astaro Security Linux... I've been happily using it as a firewall box for quite a while. A bit more robust than IPCop and Smoothwall in my experiance. I'll have to check out ClarkConnect though, looks interesting.

    I haven't personally dealt with Verisign much but I used to have to deal with NSI daily, and I can tell you they were anything but ethical. Their prices were (and still are) absurd, their service terrible,
    and generally they were just not pleasent people to deal with.

    The court's ruling was that trade secrets are not protected under free speech laws. I agree with this.

    The court's decision was correct, trade secrets are not protected under free speech, and shouldn't be. DeCSS shouldn't be a trade secret, is all.

    Since I'm seeing a lot of this, a note to the uninformed/misinformed who didn't RTFA or even much of the blurb:

    These are NOT cards for gaming, they are for professional graphics work. Very different market, so please refrain from telling us how you don't need a high end video card or don't play video games. It's of no consequence.
