  1. Worse than that! on Armed Dolphins Released Into Gulf of Mexico · · Score: 1

It's worse than that! They are under cover!

  2. Mod TFA funny on Armed Dolphins Released Into Gulf of Mexico · · Score: 1

Missing info from the article: The dolphins are wearing a necklace that hold their guns. These guns are fired by brain waves, at the dolphin's will. The device is powered by cold fusion, wich have been developed in secrecy by the US Navy for more than 5 years now. Saying so, the dolphins are extremelly valuable as the necklace power may be endless. Also it is confirmed that some retired KGB agents that were living in New Orleans are already in possession of the cold fusions plans and in their way to mother soviet russia and China. We are all doomed.

  6. Fusion and space exploration on Lightning Fusion And Other Hot News · · Score: 1

Star Wars like spaceships will only be available when we get fusion(and small enough reactors also). The major problem we have in space exploration nowadays is fuel. To send something to mercury we need to make a few fly bys, making the trip at leat twice as long as it could be with a direct travel. With fusion power we could even have a ship that could leave earth atmosphere without a launcher. The french fusion plant is planned to operate in about 70 years. If in 70 years it become a reality, it will be a huge generator. To create one the size of a ship maybe another 70 years. So we can say we will be able to travel faster and safer to space by the year 2150. Can't wait for it... :)

  7. Skype and privacy on Skype Security and Privacy Concerns · · Score: 1

Besides the security implementation... somehow a friend of mine was blocking someone from a company we were working for. This person created a conference and in the conference room appeared a message saying that for privacy settings of the user he would not be able to be added to participate. Besides of the should and shouldn't of his deeds, the skype way of privacy itself delated him and may have ended costing him his job (he was fired 1 month after the incident).

  10. Like Open Source on Intelligence in the Internet Age · · Score: 1

Not relying in computers is something my grandpa would probably say... I think the opposite. Computers do make us smarter. Being able to search for answers is being smart. I remember the hard work I had while studying when younger. No internet, had to read it in books. Today we would do the same homework in half the time... or even faster.
The point is, by having computers to lookup the basics for you you get yourself free for more important deeds. It's like open source, where you can re-use the works of others to achieve higher goals. If every single generation would need to reinvent the wheel we probably would not have gone to space yet. Home computers and internet will play (and already are) a major role in the technology progress of this century.

It may be ligitimate, but I may bet it is abuse also. The company did not made Google Mail software as it may be mislead by the topic. They just had the name, and must be asking a lot of money for it. If their product was a successfull high profitable product I would understand the claim. Google will change the name to Google Mail. It will be google mail all over the site, and people will still call it GMail. There will be no need to pay for the GMail name. It already happened in germany

I know russia was the soviet russia and so it is evil and all the stuff like that... but this is only space tourism, has the approval of all partners (ESA and NASA), and is being carried by russians instead of NASA since it's cheapper for the tourist to afford. NASA would probably accept a space tourist since it's being year after year harder to get a good budget.

What if it's not even the system being heterogeneous the problem? In this similar article it looks like it is the system's fault, not the configuration. I work with web development and I can say the different versions of products may always cause some headache. Maybe the so called D.C.Stars System is poorly developed, or wasn't tested properly, or both.

We are branching. I really think if evolution occured in such a way to make us look so much different from each other (even if we are still human beings) then it's very difficult to hope our brain or even other physical aspects evolved to be the same. We can even go back to that very controversial subject.

mining antarctica is not worth it. History shows us no government will stop mining or extracting resources from a country because of environment reasons. If the oil in antartica was cheap enough to extract, and that was not harmful for our planet (as mining mars is not) the USA or another country would probably already have done that by seeking for some WMD. :)

  20. Alternative energy sources on Hydrogen Stored in Safe High Density Pellets · · Score: 1

People forget that in the future there will be no oil. Developing new energy sources is a very important task to keep our world going. We currently see how much our economy is bound to oil, and how it is affected by the rise of its price in stock markets around the world. Finding a similar alternative cheap energy source would create a big revolution.

Being #1 MMORPG of the world may be not impressive at all. It's due to the great success of the WoW series instead of the game being the best game ever. Others like ragnarok online were much more impressive since they got their fame from scratch. MMORPGs are around for some time already... I really think WoW online is much more like a fever and will not last long, like most games do.

No, it's not. It's far from a simple download interface, it has a lot of code underneath its graphic interface.
Systems that provide update features have big advantages over a download by yourself one.

-The user don't need to know what he needs to update. If you stop updating... and a month later you try the game again you don't bother seeking and verifying the last 8 updates on the site. Not everyone is a linux user.
-Updates can be released more often, since the system manages the updates needed.
-Security. It's harder to crack the game. You may not mind it, but for a software selling company this is very important.
-Communication and news. It's way more pleasant to view news when you login into a game system than recieving not always welcome mail.

There is probably others I forgot to mention here.
