But according to Apple, you also have to own/buy apple hardware to install that $30 OS on.
Considering Apple went out of their way to stop people from installing OSX on netbooks, the AC has a point. If Apple had to support OSX on every type of Intel and AMD platform I am not so sure their "smooth OS experience" would be there across the board.
Actually if Titan has a methane ocean under the surface, it would really fill the role as out fill up station. Now we take the methane and extract hydrogen to fuel our ships?
The plant did survive the earthquake. It was the tsunami that screwed everything up. They built the plant to survive a 6 meter tsunami, not a 15 meter tsunami. If the tsunami did not happen, the plant would have continued to run on backup power until regular power was restored.
So basically, power plants need to be designed to withstand a 25.0 earthquake and a hundred meter tsunami. Lets throw in a volcano eruption just to be sure. I was going to say a 100 mile wide meteor strike. If that happened, I do not think that the power plant would be there at all.
The jury on Oct. 1 said Apple was infringing three patents and awarded damages of $208.5 million for each patent. Apple had argued in court papers that the amount was too high and that it was improper to add the damages. Davis agreed, saying “the evidentiary record is insufficient to support the jury’s damage awards” even if the infringement finding had been upheld.
So, basically, the Judge felt that the fine was too high and threw the fine out. Apple was found guilty of infringing on said patent. Apple did not have to pay a fine.
Had that for dinner last night. Add some grated cheese and butter to the spaghetti. Put in the tuna what you want. I used salt, pepper, and a little mayo.
I don't know what it is about PC Laptop manufacturers but they don't seem to make aesthetic machines at all - why does it have to have some gaudy collection of lights, cheap shiny plastic, and screen that is better at reflecting your face than displaying -- I have only seen Sony laptops that seem to have good quality, superior screens; but then those are already in the price range of a Macbook Pro -- so might as well get a macbook pro.
Have you seen the new mac laptops? They have that shiny screen as well. Same with the imacs. I have a 27 inch imac in my office. It works great. As a computer, and to see who walks in my office from behind me. A shiny screen is a crime that all the PC laptop manufactures are guilty of.
Think of this as a start. Maybe with advancements they can extend the control to other things. Maybe there is a way to implant something to let these people move their own body. You can for the extreme and do a body prosthetic a la Ghost in Shell. Even if we had the technology to do a full body prosthetic I am not sure humanity is ready to accept it yet.
As for the BSD code, that isn't the interesting or valuable part of OS X.
I was under the impressions that without the BSD code, OS X would have been totally different. And most likely no where near as polished when was released at the time. It wold have most likely have looked good at release, but it would have come out at a later date. Months or year(s) later. As others have posted: Apple would have to write a kernel from scratch. Using BSD allowed them to skip that step.
If they would move the air from the higher floors to the lower floors, it would work great. I know people who worked in the Empire State building in the 1960s. They worked on in 72nd (it was 70 something) floor. They opened the windows in the summer. Being up that high the air was cooler. You just had to hang on due to the updraft that happened sometimes. The updraft often swept her off of her feet.
And according to the pledge of allegiance: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance
We have people the represent us in out government. We elect them democratically, but we have a republic. Unless it is called a democratic republic?
Well, one more reason to take away the computers from every stupid person. Boy, that'll be the day of comfort and silence. Can't wait for it to happen.
But then, Dell, Apple, HP, every other computer maker, will bitch from lack of sales.
Well, if you believe that people own their own bodies. The fetus is only half owned by the woman. The other 'owner' is who ever the father is. One would need to get his permission for the abortion. Unless we have cloning, in that case you are saying what you can do with yourself. Of course cloning throws a huge wrench into things.
The ultimate bad guy was Vader. That was made clear. Vader was evil. I say was since after watching I, II, and II we find out he was a winy bastard, Vader does not seem so evil and bad anymore. Vader is pathetic. There I said it.
Well war robots eliminate other war robots and people.
Sex robots also cut into the human population. Albeit in a slower fashion. Fewer people reproducing means the human population is reduced over time. But sex robots might start making more sex robots.
War robots have a faster more direct method is all.
I knew a few people that loved ME. Since ME was windows 98 third edition, you could just overwrite files to fix things and install things. To keep ME happy was a snap. Build machine install all software. Backup the program files and windows directories. When they called about a problem. Look into problem. If you can't fix it, copy the program files and windows directories back. The problem was usually fixed. I usually booted off of a live CD and deleted the program files and windows directories and coped from the backups. This got rid of the extra files. It is dumb, long, and time consuming. But it kept the people happy.

Sounds like a candy.

Man, i should have studied law instead of engineering
They say a law degree is easier then an engineering degree. It may not be too late.
Mental of course. For one may be physically 12 years of age only for 1 year. However, one can be mentally 12 forever!

You are aware that the US government is a Republic, or a Democratic Republic right?

I can tell you this, 200 years from now, everyone who is alive today will be dead.
Except Cher, who will still be around.

The PWN to OWN contests. Usually apple hardware is taken down first.

Well according to: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2 there is no monthly fee with guild wars 2. There isn't a monthly fee with the first one either.

Well, isn't Wesley Snipes going to be "on ice" (i.e. in jail) soon?
Talk about life imitating art.
If they do not complain then later on they should not be able to sure. The whole process of waiting and launching a lawsuit has gotten out of hand.
They may not be old enough to have played Asteroids.
yup.
We have people THAT represent us in OUR government.
THAT could also be who.
Note to self: Do not comment on slashdot while having three other conservations at the same time.
