I want encryption where you have to use a quantum computer or at very least a super computer to crack it.
You can call me paranoid if you want but I will never use the wireless access on my router. I use the very same router the guy used in the article. WEP, WPA or WPA2 are too insecure for me to use.
A wireless router I would use is a router that uses at least 256bit encryption but would prefer military strength. And I want routers to containt a SD Memory card so I can use multiple encryption keys.
Wireless Routers are not ready YET. They are to insecure.
Consumers Reports is the most trusted amoung consumers. They put products through their paces and ensure they work well. With that said, yes Consumer Reports create viruses. They already have done so for testing lastest virus programs. Consumer Reports September 2006 issue has said this. They have rated Bit Defender as the best. The issue specifically said they created new viruses to test how well they did against new viruses not already in the signature lists.
People like Igor Muttik are just scared their crappy anti-virus software sucks. Mcafee ranked #6 in the Sept 2006 issue. And even if a CR virus got loose, CR can release the viruses details to venders immediately. The virus wouldn't last more than couple days.
Microsoft could go Linux but in it's own way. It's called reverse engineering and rebuilding NT Kernel from ground up. It's called putting Linux's best features into a new NT Kernel.
If the new definition is adopted, it won't last for long. We will redefine what a planet is and is not when Humans finally explore the sol system and interstellar space for the first time.
BUT I hope the IAU holds off until the satellites visit Pluto in few years. It's purpose is to study pluto and we can use it to determine if Pluto is actually a planet. And if pluto gets dropped as a planet, We will still have nine planets. Scientist are confident that UB313 is larger then Pluto. So UB313 could become our ninth or tenth planet in the SOL system.
Anyways, The moon is needed (tides). And even if it did move outside Earth's gravitational pull, It will still be called the Moon or 'Cheese' world. Old habits die hard.
And those worried about Sol becoming a red giant. By the time that happens, a Human colony is most definitely ensured.

MacBook is $1099. Cheapest Dell Duo Core for Laptop (Inspiron E1405) $1381 with 80gb hdd and 1gb ram.
Mac Pro and iMacs are a different class but are priced competively. Mac Pro is a Dual Duo Core with ability to have 4 500gb hard drives installed.
If you really compare apple to dell then use computers that have similar hardware.
$50/month cable would not work with a Cyber Cafe. You need a T-Carrier line (aka T1, T2, or T3) for internet access. Cable won't cut it. My local cyber cafe uses T2 line so even/. users will gladly use it for downloading their favorite Linux Distro DVD much faster.
In Hampton Roads Virginia (Southeast Virginia), there is a cyber cafe that has been in business for years. I'm not sure how long but at least 5-10 years. I would imagine the most expensive part of Cyber Cafe startup is the Tier line and being able to pay for it on monthly basis.

I would personally love a Computerized house like the one on Eureka (Scifi TV show). Too bad it's faked but probaly could be made quite real for a large sum of money. I'm not sure how much the computer's charming personality can be made. How good is computer AIs?
Does this mean Microsoft will consider open sourcing parts of it's NT 'Vista' OS? If Apple is willing to embrace Open Source community then Microsoft should seriously consider it. It would appear Microsoft is dragging it's feet in accepting Open Source.
